Hi, Tom @14.57.
RIP is interesting, because it works in English and in Latin. "Rest in peace," or "requiescat in pace," as the priests used to say in the past.
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh have led privileged lives; but I cannot say I envy them. Stanley Baldwin (prime minister, 1923-29, and again 1935-37) remarked that "power without responsibility is the prerogative of the harlot." The royal family suffer from the opposite predicament; they have responsibility without power. But they are well-paid, and they live very comfortably, so I limit my sympathy to their occasions of bereavement, of which today is one.
Best wishes.
