Zioc had a placing today at 4.1 pence. The share price was 10 pence at the time so a big discount many including myself expected a big fall early on so I wanted to buy in. (I used to work for Xstrata when it owned Zenaga) Never happened. In fact the share price was almost 12 pence during the day. Almost 200% higher than the placing. Who would have thought that. It ended up basically unchanged. Thats nearly 150% higher than the placing. Now that was a good refinancing. It can happen. Even though I do not see a placing here. Perhaps a Saudi company will buy a stake at a premium? Who knows. Anther bidder for WG is quite possible. All to play for here. Good luck all. Correct move by Wood. It will actually reinforce the company`s hands during talks. Probably people had this news already and it was the reason for the rise.

This chat with Rothschilds to to sound out options for the company is a wise move. It is a strong message to Sidara that we have other options and they are not the only one in town. With Sidara thinking Wood has other routes it may encourage them to make a better offer than it may have envisaged. Now we can see that Sidara is not the only play the company`s position is strengthened. Perhaps Rothschilds can only sound out other possible cash offers or options to take over the Advisory part of the company that the FT says is worth $1B plus. Do that then the debt issues is solved in an instant. Sidara now well aware this could slip through their fingers. So how much do they want the company? While there are talks we are also talking to others. This is very very good. STRONG BUY.

If there is to be a refinancing, the company would sound out core shareholders for their participation. It would not be done without their knowledge and or approval. Long term a refinancing would create more value. This would be in the interest of core institutional shareholders as they have a longer term expectation than ordinary shareholders.

Putting these plans of refinancing in place is very prudent. It shows Sidara that the company is not a forced seller and if they want the company they would want to make a good offer and failing that they can manage without an offer and do well to do so.

This is good news and is to be welcomed. If the bid did not go through it would be because the big institutions see better value coming longer term than by a cash offer now.

This is good either way. Sidara must now offer more if they want to see this through and not lose this opportunity. I am happy with this. More buying tomorrow.
