When only a few low volume trades across the market back in the day, a poster claiming to be an ex mm, explained them as oddments, that had to be accounted for, eg a TRADE between two brokers, the seller having say 5,000,020 for sale from a pi/client, the buyer only wanting 5,000,000, so they do
the trade and the 20 published and offset to add to a future TRADE.
Since the arrival of the FEE FREE sites, the number of small and miniscule trades, have exploded on all shares across the market. Many being Richard Heads using long DEAD real codes, died years ago with new Tech arriving. Additionally others try to influence by using algorithms to pile in lots of small buys or sells at trigger points, trying to instigate a sharp drop or spike.
The skimmers and scalpers brigade, only looking for 2% - 5% swing trades on a larger volume/s in play
So things never as they seem and always some with an agenda BUT its not the mm/shop floor brokers responsible in most cases.
Same as the buy/sell/unknown or colour codes you see, are ZERO to do with MM/Market, just Dimbo Algo GUESSING sites like this one
that take the Exchange trade and rehash with a BEST GUESS label.
Before the (cough) upgrade last year on the real LSE, the trade ended with two flags for place of execution of trade and where published
eg Main Market XLON XLON (London Exchange) or AIMX AIMX (AIM Exchange). Many others also used, as not all TRADES conducted on them.
other pairs ECHO SINT , ECHO XOFF (Off exchange a common one in the 1700-1800 timeframe for spreads)
Another common one was ECEU SINT, which for large , very large trades, generally conducted between European Exchange via London
to places like AMSTERDAM and other European Exchanges, since the explosion of the fee free sites, the mass under £100 trades have
also been labelled ECEU SINT.
As said, since last years (cough) upgrade, they now only end each trade printed with a single Flag, eg XLON or AIMX, or other.
So, not as easy to figure what is most likely..........GLALTH
