Good morning from HAPPY shareholder!30 May 2022 11:41
Having thought through why I bought here i'm very confident that Suzy is the best person. Very happy to stay invested here and if there is any short term set back i'll stay put and hopefully I will do well in the long run. I fully understand my risk here. My time line here is not months but years so very happy to see what happens with Val201/ val401, etc.
It's very important to have a balanced portfolio. I would never tell anyone to invest all their money into stock market or in one stock unless they know what they are doing.
My best investment to date is a property that i bought back in 2005. It was a 3 bedroom Semi and i paid 5% deposit. My total investment was £30,000. To date I have made approximately £400,000 from rental income plus the value has gone up by £450,000. The property is on an interest only mortgage. This was my first investment so initially it was on Barclays offset mortgage. My £30,000 made me +£850,000 over the last 17 years. Currently i'm earning close to £30,000 on rental income per year. I can convert it to two flats and i have a big plot of land next to it so it has a lot of potential. A studio will rent for £900 to £1100 per month. But i'm not willing to spend £100,000 to £150,000 yet to build it.
The point i'm trying to make is not to invest all your money in one stock. Look to set up a stable cash flow. I have several income streams. If i lose all my money in stock market it will not have any impact on my mental or financial situation. If i do well here and other stocks ( Blu, MKA, AVCT) i hold then i can pay off my mortgages. If not then i'll just have to keep working little longer.
Here for long run....
