We have not had an RNS since early May other than one for the year end results. What we had at the end of july early August was a presentation and i am not sure of any legal validity behind a presentation to an RNS but i recall it specifically implied the Rig was on its way now that Covid restrictions in China had lifted and the southern border with China would be re-opening very shortly.
Now MB please up date us was the rig on its way and if so where is it and how long will it be. Also where are regarding LP and the Mongolian Govt / courts .
You implied a very short time to tap the oil and again you implicated that there was a very good chance it could be started this year. Is that likely to happen now or is everything going to be put on hold for another year.
There are a a number on here who very much doubt anything will happen this year and will be put on hold for another year possibly two and then those who believe we just need to patient and just wait through some exceptional circumstances ie China's covid policy. For a long time i fell into the latter camp but now i am getting doubts as to any verascity. Tomorrow is September 1st and i would really hope for an update even if it is telling us nothing is happening let us know that nothing is happening.

What ever this is, it is a lot of shares and i wonder why the SP has not moved more on the news. I can only assume that the market has not as yet factored this in, After all 4.425m shares is about 0.005% of the total share capital not an insignificant amount. Could it be one of the big boys that MB has been referring to jumping in.

I think Samuel Beckett would have grudging respect for Mike Buck. i mean even Godot did not wait this long for news.

Please MB give us some news really does not matter the lack of news is sending some members of this board slightly mental and neurotic and i no longer vouch for anyones sanity on here. So news please.

I am hoping that when the equipment has all arrived and in situ it will focus minds re land permits. I just feel that the push for land permits, and the need for Mon Govt to issue them, was rather moot seeing as there was no equipment because it could not get out of the warehouse or manufacturer let alone fact it could not leave the country because of border closures. But once that equipment is in place with or without personnel to operate it will sharpen the minds of both MB and the Govt. The idea of having all that equipment sitting there wasting time whilst someone decides to extract a digit from their backsides just might focus a few minds.

From what i can tell everything hinges around the Land Permit deal with out that we might as well have all the oil in the world but nothing we would be able to do.
The Chinese method of negociating is to procrastinate and go round in circles in the hope you will give in and get bored and give them a great deal and you obviously a lousy one. That will continue until we have something they want and that is the oil and at the moment we have the oil but cannot get near it. Until that Land Permit arrives then they might sit up and pay attention and start to negotiate seriously. So yes i am not surprised there are no results from any talks until they know that we have that permit. As to the Mongolian Govt they are doing things in their own way in their own time and nothing is going to hurry them.
Finally half pay for the board. I vaguely remember hearing MB say that the board was taking half pay sometime ago. Now whether that still stands i am not sure and also would think that if they were back on full pay would it not be announced via an RNS.

Assuming we do start drilling for oil this year with oil prices just north of 100usd a barrell and with 3 billion dollars worth of oil to exploit can any one give me an idea as to how to work out the market cap for this company. I do accept that this is a big iff at the moment but nonetheless it is still possible we will drill this year. I presume a lot will be on how many barrells a day also how royalty . tax payments to the Mongolian government plus our profit sharing agreement. I am sure someone hear would have tried to calculate this out.

Personally i have derisked a chunk of my holding when it went over £18 just recently. I am now hanging onto a small amount to see what happens.. I think not accepting the offer is the equivalent of bird in the bush being better than two in the hand at some point in the future. I am expecting a number of annoucements in the months after demerger that should give share a real push. Hopefully. The only problem i can see is the Geo political problem vis vie Russia and how the markets fair. and also inflation and how that is going to affect it all.

I am beginning to wonder about the big boys meant to be coming in but guess they are keeping their powder dry. If good news comes and they are still around then that is why this share will do a big leap. If they are not the share will proably still go up but by no where near as much as we would hope.

Curiouser do you think this land dispute will resolve itself in the near future or do you think this will run and run. Also does it affect our exploration of the Raptor segment. Why cannot we do that if not exploit. I do not think this got mentioned.

I have just thought that there will probably need to be another raise because of the rate of inflation unless the rate of inflation in Mongolia or china is far less than it seems to be every where else in the world. The £12m we have in the bank will now not be worth anything like £12m so unless we can exploit the oil quickly and use that money then i fear another round of pass the cap will be going on shortly. Do not want to put a downer on it but this inflation is a rapid rise and out of the ordinary.

I am desperately trying to stay positive but i am beginning to come the conclusion that MB has a plan A but no plan B or C but i seriously hope i am wrong and the RNS is nice and juicy when it arrives. There are mitigating circumstances this year but next year i am not sure that will be the case. Just keep ones fingers crossed and offer but a relevant prayer or two.

I think the split will be a good thing for both parties in this as it will allow each to concentrate their businesses on their respective strengths. The unilever bid back a few months ago was an indication of the prospective strength of Haleon as i do not believe they could see a fit with drug producing arm of GSK. Pfizer announced some time ago that they would be disposing of their shares as they do not Haleon as a strategic fit for its business model not that they do not see it as being a good business. This makes perfect sense and they have also stated that they will dispose of their shares in such a manner as to disrupt the share price. From that i would reckon they will sell the shares over time and will probably give the company a heads up at to when this was coming or have it agreed in advance. It looks like an amicable split rather than a contentious divorce.

The RNS will come either Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday of this week or next week as that is last week of June i would expect news before end of 2nd quarter. For some reason we do not get news on a Monday or a Friday. I just hope he does not wrap this around the Financial Report because then it will mean no news and this will go into another panic dive.

It has been a fairly exceptional few years mind you. Not what you would call an ordinary few years.

Must admit i am very much in your line of thinking. However i was thinking last night about the fall in SP to below 3p and decided that MB is not worried about the SP falling hopefully because he knows it will very shortly be going up. I think he reckons he does not need any more placements otherwise i think he would tried to find a way of keeping the SP up rather than just let it fall. So let us all hope for a good RNS when it comes when that is i have absolutely no idea as to every date i thought there might be one has been and gone. I fear it might be as far away as end of this month. I am relaxed about when it comes just not quite so relaxed about what it contains.

I was not suprised by the Pfizzer announcement as it its not a strategic fit for the current business. Their business is far more aligned to the GSK that is left and i assume they will still hold shares in that at the end. They have given everyone advance notice and have agreed not to upset the share price too much. I think the new business will still do well but may take a bit longer to get there. If it does not and takes time then we may well see another take over bid again Unilever was really after this side of our business only a few months ago. IMO and ATB

Thanks for this i find the whole thing slightly fascinating. It seems that China or rather Chinese companies are the unwanted guests that will just not leave. And they (Mongolia) cannot be rude about it and tell them to get out because they live in the big manor house down the road.

Let me ask this of the people on here who obviously know Mongolia well and its government.
This refinery must cost millions to build and that would only be the budgeted cost the real cost could be even higher. How are they planning to pay for this surely with oil over 100usd a barrell and not looking to come down any time soon it would be best to get some of this oil to the market now even though a chunk of the profit would go to China just to help pay for this massive cost.
