Sell order in to deleverage a bit, this is not good news at all. It might drop aggressively and bounce back in a few weeks. We do have treatments for Covid and vaccines so it might be a bit of an over reaction....

Think you’re right, more panic stations because of Delta where we saw millions of people dying in India before alarm bells rang…

10 o clock news say it’s spreading very fast but only 53 people have it? Compared to 15 people last week. I get that but doesn’t mean a thing with the numbers so low, could have all been at a massive orgy?! Also saying it doesn’t mean anything as they don’t know how harmful it is or if it actually evades vaccination….

Does it cause a more severe reaction?

Im not sure why people are focusing so much on Ryanair? They are a low cost carrier that service Europe. IAG are a transatlantic high end service provider. The only comparable are restrictions to travel in Europe which arent affecting IAG with the US open. Cases in Europe for IAG home markets (Spain and France) with the exception of Ireland (Who have also not imposed travel restrictions are largely under control.

Flying back from Dubai, connected on inflight internet. The plane is 90% full. People have started traveling again for business. I attended an industry conference and attendance at it was more than pre-covid. You cant do business development or showcase innovation on zoom, its just not possible to do it correctly. Glad i loaded up when i did, the future SP will be good for IAG. I can only imagine US flights are thriving.

Cases are spreading, agreed but those that are vaccinated are not going to hospital or dying at the same level as last year. This is an endemic disease now. I don’t see much changing when it comes to travel lockdowns.

This wave is that of the unvaccinated, those that travel are vaccinated. Europe won’t lock down, can’t see why countries including Spain, France, Italy etc would?
