I took a small punt on this on Friday, as clearly did lots of others. I did this for no other reason than I like a little flutter from time to time on something high risk and this looks like it could be an interesting ride , either way. My only commentary on this company is that from my limited personal experience its shops are always over spilling with stock, but almost no customers. It is really, really noticeable. I was at Cabot Circus in Bristol again today at around 2pm. Superdry was like a morgue. Every other shop my daughter dragged me into was packed (and she had zero interest in going into Superdry). I have no idea how that can be turned around, and the overheads must be enormous. Hope there are bidders with deep pockets and even deeper imaginations, as this is one massive ship to turn around.

Mental debt here for a legal business of this size. The risks are obvious. I cannot see any reward in sight.

Don’t blame the lawyers. Blame the clients! Anyway, yes, huge potential. This has been a rollercoaster ride, and it’s been coasting down for far too long. Just needed a little momentum the other way. The positives here have been disregarded for too long. Well overdue a serious rerate. I’ve been here for some time. Was my rocket ship for quite some time. Has stalled a bit, but all the fundamentals are there to get us back into orbit.

Update: I phoned Barclays this evening in case there was some kind of error with their systems. They were great actually and put me on hold whilst they spoke to one on of their analysts to check why I couldn’t buy. Apparently they have deemed this be a”sophisticated/professional investor” investment. Not their exact words - but clearly their compliance team felt there was some kind of risk making this available to unadvised ISA investors. Personally I’d have thought they could have covered that off with some kind of disclaimer (I’ve done that when investing in other assets with Barclays), but fair play, they picked up the phone and answered my query on a Wednesday evening. I’m a bit miffed I can’t buy in my Barclays ISA, but respect to them for handling my query, and actually answering my question!

Maybe just because he’s utterly bemused by it. I still have a SAV holding from years and years ago but have long since written it off. If I’d invested the money pretty much anywhere else over the same period I’d be sitting on a nice profit. As far as I’m concerned my holding is so small it’s irrelevant so I may as well let it ride - but I get the feeling lots of people here are “all in” and are pinning a lot of hopes on this. My suggestion is that those folks should look elsewhere. This is a zombie. Always has been.

Yes, that’s my point. They are completely and utterly dependent upon third parties and, like you say, their model seems old hat (mix of brands) and arguably weakens the exclusivity of the big brands. Good luck with your trade.

My issue with WOSG is it’s just a retailer of third party products. How long are its contracts with the suppliers, and what’s to stop them jumping in bed with someone else?

But why? Other than just thinking the drop is overdone (which I don’t think it is; I think it’s just overdue) and you may make a quick turn? Is it just day traders here now; and those who are in too deep and are clinging on in hope? That came out a bit harsh; but my point is, with the watch bubble popping, can anyone point me in the direction of anything that would actually support an improvement in the fundamentals of this company from here and a corresponding increase in the share price. No matter what way I look at it, I can’t see it at these prices or anything close to it.

Genuinely interested in why people are buying this? The watch market is obviously having a major correction after a massive bubble, and no one in their right mind is buying new at retail prices (at least not for investment purposes in any thing like the same numbers they were). So far as I can see this is just a boggo retailer who rode a wave but is completely dependent upon the whims of the manufacturers, with no long term security and no real advantage over competitors. For those that have just gone in, how do you think this is going to turn around? Genuine question.

So Wirral Borough Council, in its capacity as administrator of a local authority pension scheme, is suing Indivior for losses arising from Indivior’s share price falling due to potentially dodgy dealings - thereby contributing to Indivior’s share price dropping further? Erm, can Indivior sue Wirral Borough Council for our losses arising from Wirral Borough Council suing it for its losses? Furthermore, will Wirral Borough Council please just focus on collecting the effing bins!
