'Lunatics' - plural

Herd mentality is the quickest way to lose your shirt. Nothing material (except the share price) has changed before / after the results. The negative posts about price remind me of those I see from Crypto evangelists, where they say the price is going to the moon and you have to buy buy buy. I take them with equal weight.

I'm not insulting anyone. I asked an explanation, but I've not yet seen one. "cheaper use of flexible robot effectiveness" - I cannot decipher what you mean in terms of a warehouse operation........or any manufacturing process for that matter. All static robots can be rapidly reprogrammed for different items, sequences........please explain how a robot itself can be more flexible, in a positive way? They all rely on programming. Buzz words like ChatGPT and large language models don't equate to an alternative - I'm sure you realise just how generic all of the off the shelf offerings are. Absolutely useless without development, which is exactly what Ocado has done.

It's somewhat naive to suggest her purchase is nothing. It may not point to an immediate uptick (and indeed, it is predicated on there not being any imminent major contract announcement), but it does clearly state that she has faith the company will remain solvent...........when some chancers are trying to suggest otherwise. Nobody in their situation would purchase shares if they believed otherwise, as it would be misleading the market............and career ending.

One of the few advantages we have as private (comparatively small) investors is speed. Those funds holding large shorts in Ocado don't have that, as exiting their positions quickly is obviously done at a massive premium.....and so they reduce slowly, occasionally increase by a small amount and so on. However, it's blindingly obvious the general direction of travel in their overall short positions (which are reducing). So you may make money in the short term cycles, but remember that speed advantage when you need it to exit your short position..........or you will get stung.

A little later than I planned, but bought earlier today. Attracted by the director confidence, v. low debt, promise of dividend, stake building by the investment trust and historically low price.

People have to fly...........in cold reality, it's a reputation hit for one of their competitors.

I hold both ITM and Johnson Matthey........The latter has been under pressure to reduce capex on their Hydrogen business, confirmed by this morning's announcement. There is certainly a lot of consolidation in the industry taking place..........ITM have had some limited contracts with Johnson, but I'd say on balance it'll be to ITM's benefit.

Perhaps you could choose to share the information which isn't in the public domain that leads you to such a wild conclusion? Nothing in the public domain could lead to a 'finished' scenario.

Not likely.........they have sufficient cash to reach profitability, it's clear in the accounts.

I'd beg to differ. Have had some great returns on stocks like IAG, BAT and BAB in the last few years. Ocado is a recent one for me, along with B&M and Johnson Matthey.........see them all as unloved bargains.

Seemed to tie in with the Sainsbury job cut news..........so I'd say it was sector related.

Why buy B&M? It's an income play normally, but right now I'd consider it also to be a strong capital contender.......it wasn't much cheaper during lockdown, which is kind of absurd given their lack of an online channel. Gives you a sense of true value. I'd look at each stock on its own merits, otherwise surely it's just a hype investment(?)

Purchased today on the back of the Poundland news..........I see their weakness as an opportunity for B&M.

Why would they put this out as an RNS? It's not material to the share price, and every RNS has a publication cost.

There are a lot of very old, high broker targets out there. Even if many were cut by more than 50% they'd be higher than the current price.

Baron investments is a tin pot news feed with no inside knowledge.

It's pretty much the same across the board, unless you hold IAG in an ISA........because with an ISA they have to convert it to GBP. Interactive Investor will pay you in Euros to a trading account, and you then have to choose to convert it to GBP.........which has a settlement period itself., hence a delay.
