Essentially as I understand it protocols are being developed by Bruker and Avacta which support the use of mass spectrometers for Covid analysis in clinical settings. If this is succesful MS use is likely to be expanded to encompass in-vitro disagnostics for a wide range of targets providing yet another massive market opportunity for Avacta.

I think youre right, benefit to Mologic in terms of the Covid LFT but also Im guessing in terms of the wider use of Affimers going forward. Win, win but great for Avacta in terms of the wider adoption of Affimers.

The FU was long overdue, clear to many that Avacta was operating in a hostile environment from early days but then again all that Conservative PCR c**p hadto be sold before better tech was established. All in my own opinion but I said so 9 months ago.

So Mologic and Avacta have the best, most sensitive, most specific , I hesitate to say cheapest and somefolk imagine the British Gov might look elsewhere! There will likely be only one test for the whole planet subject to manufacturing agreements, and thats us!!

Mm, the Scottish Witch began her television appearances a year or so ago with the promise of eradicating the virus in Scotland. I said at the time, using a little common sense, that appeared unlikely to me, I think I actually said fat chance. A year on it seems common sense has it and its clear to me now that we will never get rid of the virus and that there will be dangerous mutations at times. Testing is here to stay for the forseeable and if thats the case lets hope Avacta figures in that with a Gold Standard utilising its Affimers.

Not just the launch of the Covid test but huge expansion of the diagnostics business for very many targets. The sky is the limit for this business.

Logically , which probably rules it out, there should be a test passport which would serve to indicate non-infectious status. There could be a national database available to be accessed by ticket sales organisations and the like populated via testing phone apps.

Bruker were very quick off the mark with their assessment of the Avacta Elisa, I think they are likely to be well motivated to do the same this time around!

So, another tree shake completed. The RNS that has been released today is a necessary step which will with luck and a fair wind preceed CE/FDA approval and multi million pound orders from UK nd US Governmen. It should also cement the relationship between Avacta and Bruker for the sale of many more Assays on a multiplicity of tests. Time to relax and perhaps top up for the last time under 300p.

On the subject of small-beer tweets, Al will have noted, as have many LTH, that these have accounted for 15% drops in the past. We need the Big News or nowt. Patience will reward I think. Last tree shake or two is only to be expected, but not getting my shares any time soon.

Interesting to read how others are thinking about prospects. In my mind we have the two distinct Covid prospects both of which may succeed but in my opinion both seem unlikely to fail. BAMs is clearly more significant going forward than most imagined at the outset and seems to me highly likely to be a success and lead to large scale adoption of Affimers. Clearly the LFT is higher risk but I find it difficult to believe that Cytiva and BBI will fail to carry it off. So for me its fingers crossed but expectations are high.

Agreed. The LFT market will support the diagnosis of many, many conditions, from cancer to diabetes in the future and be worth many billions of pounds per annum. Avacta can be expected to secure a significant share of this going forward.
