Its known that people who have been vaccinated can catch and pass on Covid. So unvaccinated travellers who are travelling by virtue of having produced a negative LFT are at risk of catching Covid from vaccinated travellers and dying. I guess its an incentive for anyone wishing to travel to get vaccinated but I do hope someone feels its a violation of the Governments duty of care for its citizens and a violation of human rights effectively limiting travel.

I have a significant proportion of my life savings invested in Avacta. Though unsettled by the latest hicupp my take on events is that Avacta stumbles when it needs to rely on third parties. At around the time issues first developed with the progress of BAMS my feeling was that Avacta was operating in an essentially hostile environment and had failed to recognise the fact. The solution however is simple. Avacta must monitor any milestones that are outside its direct control very closely. I dont think its too outlandish to think that there alot of vested interests out there who would be happy to see Avacta fail. I hope Avacta has finally learned the lesson. What was it Einstein said, something along the lines of doing the same thing over and over again expecting to achieve different results is the definition of madness. So Avacta for heavens sake manage all milestones closely and if things are starting to go pearshape act. The worst thing to do is blindly trust that all will be well because time and time again it doesn't work out well.

Bottom line with regard to cash burn is that cash is sufficient to take Avacta into 2023. I have concerns born of the current silence but running out of cash is not one of them. End of.

Just listening to Radio 4, theatre management bemoaning unprofitable social distancing requirements which mean they may not open, the general public stating they are not ready to attend the theatre just yet. Makes me think where on earth is the Government with advising Covid Passports to remove requirements for social distancing. All it takes is a first rate LFT and an App both of which are now available, useless barely seems to cover Government input on the matter.

I'm hoping MHRA give approval for professional and private at home use at the same time simply because this has been done for the Innova LFT, so more than happy for a slight delay to achieve this.

Suggest interested parties contact the bbc et al with a question along the lines of "why when the uk has developed an LFT with near 100% Sensitivity/ Specificity is this not used to open up travel" or similar, could get a tricky answer of course.

My take on the matter is positive. At the current time no LFT can provide the Sensitivity/ Specificity required to support international travel therefore PCR tests and vacination status only will be employed. However, arrangements will be reviewed every 3 weeks and the Avacta LFT is about to be released, at that point only LFT positive cases will be subject to Genome testing. Insistance on Vacination status and PCR tests only once the Avacta LFT is on the streets would likely result in social unrest. Boom.

It was clear to me at the time that there was a conspiracy early in the pandemic to sell PCR hard and BAMs suffered as a consequence. We all know the issues with PCR and how closely the Avacta LFT aligns with it in the early stages of infection and how much better LFTs are post infection. Time for Avacta to start selling its story hard.

Yes the assumption is they will be earning from the LFD and their other offerings and so cash calls are nothing that Avacta will need to be involved in probably ever. Great news given its prospects.

Avacta has a candidate neutralising therapy. Would not be too much of a stretch to imagine that this may be progressed.

This mechanism thus has the potential to prevent infection and act as a neutralizing therapy, the firm said. The reagents could be given to individuals who have been exposed to the virus to prevent infection, as well as to COVID-19 patients already infected by the virus. Avacta is looking for a partner with resources to develop the neutralizing therapy as quickly as possible.
