Yanis, Taverham, I agree entirely if come the end or March/April/whenever, Angus are still in control of Saltfleetby. If someone else sees the value (gas prices aren't dropping any day soon) and wants to take over, they will have their own timeline and will accelerate progress as they see fit. It becomes their problem.

If the sale falls through, we need to get our skates on but the gas prices are going to be maintained or even grow in the short to medium term, so you cannot rule out the lack of pace driven by focusing on getting the best outcome in the sales process.

Albeit a timely one given your "why not do the concrete pour" question. Things are progressing but not as quickly as you think necessary to hit the current 'timelines'. I've not seen a detailed plan for dates so it's hard to make a definitive statement on that but we were told to expect a day by day plan. Probably late because of the sale process and around the circle we go again.

Yanis, Taverham, I bow to your knowledge of the processes at play as it's your area of expertise but what I am suggesting, as an alternative to everything is f*&^%d, is that depending on who the buyers are, it might not be picked up as a going concern as they might wish to move the project forward in a way that works for them. I am not disagreeing with you, it's just that in any takeover, there are usually changes made to the way business is done as dictated by the new owners. Even something as simple as they have their own contractors for the civil works. Just a thought.

I suspect a message will arrive stating that things have slipped because of the sale activity, which is fine if the sale transpires. The risk is that the sale doesn't materialise and first gas slips, meaning we've missed both boats!

It also possible that the civil works haven't been awarded because it is 'inappropriate' to award them given the sale activity going on behind the scenes. Would a particular buyer want to do things 'their way'?

Possibly because the Langs support it? It's possible that it would have been rejected but they didn't because a family who own more than a tenth of the company support it. They don't intend accepting it at any point but it keeps them onside, so to speak. All guess work of course. Without wishing to cast aspersions, are there any links between the Langs and Southern? Or they could view this as a means to get a cheap foothold in the expanded group .

nhawan, the RNS also states that the offers of 1, 1.2 and 1.4p were unequivocally rejected which could be seen as hinting that 1.5p (at the time of the offer) was too low. Lucan hasn't come out and said "wow, yeah, let's accept it" either.

I think you could be right PG. I sold my BOIL stock a little while back, purely because I needed the money to invest elsewhere, taking a risk that good news wouldn't arrive in the meantime.

I am itching to get back in and be there when this goes through the roof. GLA.

Yanis, I have sensed your frustration/concern for some time (whilst quietly watching in the back ground).

Think of it this way, if the EA approval doesn't arrive then we may as well pack our bags and go home (not what any of us want......ok some!).

If it does arrive (which the progress being made would suggest is expected) then at least we are ready and waiting to get started. At least they didn't wait for approval before getting any of the house in order!

They are pressing ahead as though they are pretty confident that EA approval is coming or at least they are ready to more when/if it arrives!
