over on IMG has "wound " me up again about TA v FA , and my sunday evening was going so well up till then (lol)---- knew i shouln't have had more than one Fosters with me supper (lol) ---GLA ---

typos (lol) --but you get my drift , --- Just to add as a closing note ---I would like someone to exlain to me why they think, when a share price gets to a particular level , that often coincides with the level it got to several times before, ( and failed to go higher ) --it drops ?? ----My explaination , is that it would have hit a resistance level and/or be short term overbought --But that is TA ----What would your explanation be ?? -- Not having a go at you , far from it , just curious-------------GL.

you for for post ----it is really frustrating , however, when those two little words "technical analysis " are really so misunderstood !!! -----what is your understanding of those two words as opposed to Fundamental Analysis ?? ----you see, it is my belief that people just do not know exactly what TA is , and how it is used as just another "tool " in he box . ---Brokers , S/B firms , MM's , Traders, and Computer Generated Buy/Sell Programms all us Technical Analysis of some form or other ----There are a miriad of different techniques adopted , from the very basic ( oversold/overbought, 5 year sp graph ) ----- to the highly complex ( algorithmic buy/sell programms ) and called every silly name you can think of ( bollinger bands , candles, dojo's , etc etc ) ----the bottom line is , however, Technical Analysis is an integral part of the system , whether you like it or not ---NOT to be used on its own --i never do----but as an invaluable addtion to Company Fundamentals etc. ---GL.

A funny one to be sure (lol)-----I assume by your rather inadequate attempt at an "example" of TA "going wrong" you are actually meaning people be short a stock like your example or someone thinking it was overvalued and not wishing to buy it ---then "bang "as you put it ----it doubles ??---- If you have bought and still have IMG stock and any other stock for that matter , instead of spouting off about something you clearly do not understand (TA) --just spend a few moments and explain to me , what , how and when you decide to buy a stock , sell a stock or hold a stock ------If you buy on Fundamentals alone , then that's fine ---but pray tell , when do you SELL or BUY more -----It is very EASY to come on here and say Technical Analysis is all mumbo jumbo --and how do you back up so statement that TA is EXPENSIVE and DANGEROUS ----I am certainly making an aweful lot of money , by shorting IMG as well as holding the underlying stock @ 171p ----what price did you buy in at ?? --if it's at the same price as me then i have made more money than you ----simple maths . really !! ----Fundamentals alone can be expensive and dangerous , as good companies with everything fundamentally going for them can suddenly issue PROFIT WARNINGS and the sp slumps before you can get out ---So i think YOU and OTHERS that DISMISS TA out of hand simply because you fail to understand the basics of using FA and TA together are the POORER ones in this world -----I really CANNOT BELIEVE that you invest your hard earned cash in a company without looking at a GRAPH of somesort or make yourself familar with how high the price rose before "results" last year and fell after the results etc etc ----IF you have , then you HAVE USED TECHNICAL ANALYSIS ----if you HAVEN'T or DON'T then you're living a damn site more DANGEROUSLY than me -----I await your methods of investment with BAITED BREATH -----

I might be a bit OTT at times and a bit contrarian in my TA , but his/her post , whoever , seems to be out of the blue and seemingly a one off (up to now ) -----totally uncalled for and completelely unessessary in that tone ----GL.

Near as dammit at recent highs --could actually keep on going as technically not yet into "overbought" ---above 50 EMA and 200 EMA but been above those most of the last 12 months --- see what happens early next week --any drop should be capped @ 520 ish for now ------GLA.

Rubbing it in (lol) --just glad to be on the side lines ----could see which way it was likely to go once i'd listened to the late / very very early morning news bulletins -so should have gone long --- never mind , always be another chance , you can bet on that ------Looking to short IMG again soon ( well over -extended ) -----Bought back into BRIT after a successful small short over last couple of days ---GL.

run for the money --but unsustainable at current levels ----technically "overbought" now and well above 50 EMA and 200EMA ---- dropped in early trade to test 244 p and bounced ----will test the 240 p level again before rising appreciably further as closed today still too extended technically ---will rise further if that sort of level holds ---Brokers not yet convinced either . ----JMVHO --stay long as buyshare posts as long as you can ride out a pull-back to circa 240 ish -----lets see who's right -----GLA.

Sp fell to 242.5 p this morning which is just on the top edge of the previous uptrending channel --new uptrend developed now , and although at the RSI top edge still and may drop to 238/239 p i'm a buyer again today (243.0 p )and a "topper upper" at anything lower as long as 237 ish holds ---GLA.

At 16840 to average 16820 and bottled it an hour ago on the dip @ 16824 . ---i can also see it hitting 17000 , as i've posted before on here and elsewhere ---have some orders in , but on the sidelines at the mo.---GL.

like passing ships in the night (lol)-----Short the Dow from 16800 now , it's trying to break higher than that , so fingers crossed --tomorrow will be interesting !! --GL.
