Interesting reading --- and have to agree , Elliot wave technical analysis not for everyone --- i do not use it in my TA but that's just cos i havn't got round to trying to fully understand it as opposed to other forms of TA ----------------------------Have to correct you on one small point tho' in your last line of your last post ------------I spread bet predom. and i can definately assure you that spread betting will effect a share price ----not in every case and not with every company or stock , ---but Spread Betting firms such as Finspreads and IG Index etc have , from time to time , lay their "longs" or "shorts " off into the market as an accumulated position ----your's or mine , unless very big, will be accumulated along with others that day and a decisition is made whether to "lay off" or not . ---so in some instances Spread Betting can directly effect a stock or share price as a "buy" or "sell ".------This was explained to me when i asked "the question " a few months ago to a senior trader at Finspreads and the trading desk at IG Index ( both of which i use frequently ) ------Just for info . ------GL.

Your point exactly ---I did post way back on a bb ( can't remember which one ) that Questors track record was very poor . The Chartist in Shares Magazine is pretty way -out most of the time as well-----my record is better than his (lol) ----Zak Mir i have a bit of time for , but he's predom. US stocks and of course , like him or loath him , there 's Robbie Burns aka The Naked Trader ( be silly to say that he hasn't been extremely successful ) what's infuriating me tho' about TNT (robbie) is the last 4 or 5 tips i've used from his web site lost me money ---just picked the wrong tip and /or got the timing wrong (lol) -------GL . Yes made a tidy sum on a Dow long and a little on a short during the week . capped the week off by flogging my 1403 TSB shares for 295 p giving me £479.00 in the bank ----Dow looks very resilient now and may go on to fresh highs thru' the summer if that 17000 level can be breached and held --Ftse100 lagging behind somewhat now , but if it can hold 6800 it will go up on the Dows coat-tail , interest rate hikes aside ( as a hike in rates this autumn or sooner will scupper things for a while --similarly if Yellen overseas hints at an end to QE then the Dow will fall heavily -------God -damn it is nothing easy these days (lol) ---GL ,( give us a song or two along the way )---shame about the Footie , i'll have to pick another team to follow now , haven't decided which one yet ??? -------

a drop from 248 p down to 236 p in BRIT sp on friday afternoon so i can understand your concerned query. The main drop was just on or before 16.00 hrs when there was flurry of small sells ----It stopped me out of my s/b @ 242 p for a 1 p loss on my entry ---but i had a top-up /buy order in @ 237 p so it has put me back in --- technicals are a bit in no-mans land now ---below 13 and 25 EMA's but above 50 EMA --200 EMA not possible yet ----RSI and MACD pointing to possible further downside to 230 p ish ---not overly concerned at this point tho' unless 230 p doesn't hold --but at that level it will be approaching oversold anyway-----GL.

stopped out of my short for evens this morning ---may be on the up ? as it got a mention in Shares Mag. yesterday , although it was already below his stop loss level ( strange ) ------J P Morgan Caz. a strange recomm. this morning "overweight " with a 210 p price target ---26 p below current SP ---some very odd people at Morgan Caz. 1403 TSB shares --sold @ 295 p for £ 479 -00 after comm. ---If i could do that every morning i'd be a "happy bunny" (lol). ----------------------- How do you find dealing with X-O ---just could not get an answer from their dealing line the other day , although their admin did answer reasonably quickly this morning ----Their £5.95 rate comfortably beats everyone else out there for non-frequent on-line dealing , would even beat all spread betting spreads up to around 2000 shares , in a lot of companies . Can't see that they do Spread Betting tho' , just CFD's --------------GL.

To see if the 1-15 consolidation does anything for the share price ( QPP) -----did the trick , it seems, with RSA ---see if it spurs QPP on to greater things.? Special dividends are usually factored into the final total yield ( 15.8 p or something like that i think overall for Esure this year --hence the question asked about yields over on the esur bb a while back ) ---but whether you're long or short a divi. has the same effect ---long and you get payed the divi but price drops to reflect that ---short and you have to pay the divi , but your short posn drops more to reflect that ---so either way it's the same ----but i have it on good authority that no Special dividend was announced today or is to be announced ( Adrian Webb , head of corporate media enquiries at esure group has just assured me (lol)----stop trying to frighten me (lol) ----GL.

140 points on a Dow long yesterday( 16762 ) and went short @ 16905 ---still short . -----looks like you may get pretty near your 220 p entry level here !! ---GL.

Finspreads and IG Index --that old Ig Index account , depends how old it is , as to whether they will activate it again or have to set up a new one for you . You need two really as Finspreads will give you as low as 50 p a point but do not trade many of the AIM companies or IPO's or indeed many companies under a certain Market Cap . ----IG Index although trading AIM and IPO's and anything Finspreads does'nt has a min £1.00 a point after your initial start-up period ---many of their AIM and low Market. Cap . are higher at £5.00 apoint min. ----so you need the two really ----there are many more out there ie; Spreadco, Spreadex , etc . ----it can work out cheaper sometimes to trade CFD's thru' DMA ( direct market access ) --really depends on how much you want to "commit" , how much dealing you do , and how much you can afford to lose (lol)------GL ( Ftse100 6831 as i post ---Afren 139.7 p ) ----------

@ 1080 p ----Share buy-back did the trick this morning --may rise further , but will probably see a bit of a pull-back from todays high before then ----GL.
