SHELL PUBLISHES ENERGY TRANSITION STRATEGY 2024
SHELL PLC
Released 07:10:46 14 March 2024
Shell publishes Energy Transition Strategy 2024
Shell will continue its drive to halve emissions from its operations (Scope 1 and 2) by 2030, compared with 2016 on a net basis. By the end of 2023, Shell had achieved more than 60% of this target. Shell also reduced the net carbon intensity of the energy products it sells by 6.3% compared with 2016, the third consecutive year it hit its target.
To help drive the decarbonisation of the transport sector, Shell has set a new ambition to reduce customer emissions from the use of its oil products by 15-20% by 2030 compared with 2021 (Scope 3, Category 11). [A]
Shell confirms it will invest $10-15 billion between 2023 and the end of 2025 in low-carbon energy solutions, making Shell a significant investor in the energy transition.

The Orns :
In terms of timescales for agreements, Quadrise were currently working on a new agreement covering planned activities needed for the first half of this year to conclude the commercial contract by the middle of this (calendar) year. It may be signed in Morocco.
'Putting Cargill to one side, what happened to the Morrocco deal?'
Now put back to mid year for some reason I believe. Please correct me if i am wrong.
AKHM...JM gave an update to those that went to the QRF visit. In JM'S mind this is no doubt an update to all but is far from this.
Toby..the reason his post got lots of likes is because if it happened it would be great news but in reality there is less than 1% chance of it happening. In addition as Vince stated it is totally irrelevent how many likes a post gets.
Please read the below that JM recently mentioned
Current partners (MSC and Cargill) have not expressed, nor was the
company anticipating, any immediate interest in them acquiring a stake in Quadrise. The
collaboration is based on each party contributing its unique expertise and capabilities,
functioning as partners rather than in anticipation of any joint ownership arrangement.
Phar...Did JM recently state something along the lines of :
Current partners (MSC and Cargill) have not expressed, nor was the
company anticipating, any immediate interest in them acquiring a stake in Quadrise. The
collaboration is based on each party contributing its unique expertise and capabilities,
functioning as partners rather than in anticipation of any joint ownership arrangement.
Is the funding expected by Easter ?
MSC Leandra is on it's way to Valencia then Barcelona. Still no sign of the expected dry docking in Q1.
Fyoz..You need to read the update since that RNS. Please keep up.
Fyoz...We do 'KNOW' as JM has stated this.Keep up.
Only 3 weeks to the end of March now. If we have no MSC fuel agreement by then we know there will be further delays to the trials which will be announced to the market in the interims.I am sure this will have a huge impact on funding.
Agrred.Looks like 1.5p is on the cards by close Friday.
£125k ?
The last annual report for FY23 shows JM had a basic salary of £271k.
'No amount of talking up or down is going to affect the share price from here. You're literally talking within a bubble with just a tiny minority of investors or potential investors reading what is posted. I doubt any in here hold enough shares to affect the price in either direct either individually or as a group should they choose to buy or sell.'
That is probably correct but if we have no positive project news in March at the interims the market will be told nothing from Morocco until Mid year, MSC trial delayed further, Utah drilling permits still imminent and soon they won't have enough cash to buy paper for the photocopier. That will result in a huge implosion of the SP and very difficult to raise cash in my opinion JM has to announce good news in the coming weeks.
Vince...same thing regarding Morocco no urgency at all. The trial and data for the client was all completed by Decmeber last year and the commercial agreement is expected mid year 2024. There was some post saying the trial results had to go up the ladder to be reviewed but didn't JM state they were dealing directly with the senior management. We then hear it is slow due to the Moroccon way. A normal CEO would say it's going to save us big bucks so get this going commercial ASAP.
Tough week for MSC :

''Could well be that MSC are looking for a sponsor to part fund the POC and LONO trial fuels, something is holding it up and shipping companies don’t like to be out of pocket that’s for sure.'
As they have purchased a ship for the trial i doubt they need funding.
It looks lke the SP will continue to drift south until we get some news. The only news imminent is regarding the MSC trial and jeez it's taking a long long time for this fuel agreement with MSC to be concluded. As for Utah no doubt the drilling permits are still imminent!!!
Yes i think it was and Mike Kirk said something along the lines of....it was a golden opportunity for him.
Could this be the new trend regarding biofuek companies :
