GSK update their pipeline quarterly so end of Oct. to see if 737 makes the list. Doubt we'll get any news prior to that but hope I'm wrong.

Hi Ahfam, I still think we should hold off any deals until we have 1a trial results. For the sake of a few more months we might be able to increase the value by a good margin.

Depending on what a deal might look like e.g. a fair upfront payment then milestones, we may then be in a position to self-fund 1802 to a similar stage and then, assuming we see 737 milestones, return to FLT3 development. However, by that stage of the game, we might be taken over.

Failing the above scenario, just give me £50 a share now and we'll call it quits.

Broadly speaking, subjects in 1a trials are only given a single dose but subjects are grouped by the amount of the drug tested on them so:

Group 1: 10 people get X amount of the drug
Group 2: 10 different people get, say, 1.5 times the amount given to group 1
Group 3: the next 10 get twice the dose of those in group 1
And so on.

Therefore each person only gets a single dose irrespective of which group they're in.

In 1b trials a person will get multiple increasing doses to establish tolerance etc.

Interestingly, the article notes, "Once a patent on a drug has expired generic versions of the drug can be manufactured and marketed. For some drugs the period of patent protection can be extended for up to a further five-and-a-half years, so long as this does not take the time in which the drug is under patent protection beyond 15 years after the date it received regulatory approval."

A few contributors have mentioned AbbVie's patent expires next year but I don't know what plans they've put in place to extend their grip on the market.

Also from the article, 'For every 25,000 compounds that start in the laboratory, 25 are tested in humans, 5 make it to market and just one recoups what was invested.' Although the article is from 2015, if the figures are even broadly similar today, that really does highlight the scale of SAR's achievements re 737 and in the next couple of months, 1801.

So I think I'm right in saying that they believe 1801 could be beat anything already out there. That's one ballsy statement.

From the replies does anyone else get the feeling that the HNWs are keeping a close eye on progress and if all is well, they may stump up more cash for 1802's development?

Perhaps someone just needed the money and had no other option but to sell.

However, more convoluted reasons are available for those with ulterior motives (rolls eyes).

If you look on SAR's website homepage http://www.sareum.com/ , the top entry under the Presentations heading is "IMC SDC-1801 CTA submission, Aug 2022".

As the CTA RNS was dated 28th July, this looks to be something post that event but there's no further info on it. Can anyone confirm what the 'IMC' bit might relate to? I can only guess it's *something* Medical Council.

Hi Bailiff - might be best not to buy in a single lump. Instead spread your buys over the space of a week or so. Any day to day variance will even out. The question is, will you get to buy all £50k worth at pre-CTA approval prices as news could come any day?

You might want to e-mail TM with your concerns (and can't really hurt), I doubt any reply would be overly helpful as they'd cite commercial sensitivity etc. as a reason for not being able to say too much.

I see the appointment of Consilium as a crumb of hope and look forward to the written answers from the recent Q&A event being published. I'd asked specifically about their appointment and the timing of it re the CTA so they might be able to give answers that ally our fears re drumming up some business and commercialisation.

I'd hope GSK announcing progress on 737 and getting strong results for 1801 would be the key to getting our name in the spotlight.

Morning Utah - if you have doubts over the potential for 737 (sounds like you've not been doing your homework), why did you buy another 1200 shares?

Yes, this is the problem we often face here; the science and the associated patents get very technical, very quickly, therefore 'armchair scientists' like ourselves can run into problems when trying to interpret much of the detail.

The wisdom of crowds can only take us so far. It's clearly time to coerce JR into joining the forum. (I jest.)

Hi Ahfam - yes, Thoth used the analogy of squirting water on a burning house (the catalytic site) rather than targeting the neighbouring houses (allosteric). However the darkest recesses of my memory says there is another company with a compound targeting catalytic. I'll have a poke about for more info.
