Hope you're right ... I just can't make any sense of the general direction the bookies sp are going just now as I would think they had a good Wimbledon as well as World Cup and open golf etc still to come. Think a trading update might help

If the dividend can be maintained (probably a big IF) then these are looking like a bargain. Have to say my optimism is being tested and hope we get an update of performance post World Cup. Listened to a guy on the radio today who reckoned bookies didn't get of to a good start but after opening rounds have been winning. Time will tell.

All bookies will make money on World Cup due to the spread of betting. Even if one of the favorites .. Brazil, argentina, Germany or Spain win the bookies will still clean up. Any other team wins then it it's boom time. The thing that ladbrokers need to ensure is that they get maximum market share through good prices and novelty bets etc. They seem to have a major marketing initiative going on just now so time will tell

Decided to get back in this. Could be big mistake but the way I see it there is a lot of sport open golf, tennis and of course World Cup this summer. The last management statement I took with cautious optimism so ... I wouldn't be surprised if this drops a bit but looking for 4 to 6 month turnaround

I bought in here a week or so ago and there does appear to have been quite a bit of buying activity yet no signifant change in SP. Maybe we need an announcement of some sort?
