yeah UK is not great for solar - but every bit helps
my parents got it on their home a number of years ago a fee grant deal or something - they do not get any benefit from what is sold back to the grid but the panels cost them nothing
electric bill has dropped by 25% which is great IMHO in north of England

I want to see more companies like Octopus energy, doing great things, deals with house builders to include panels. building pipeline from Morocco to UK to transfer electric from huge sola power farm

and improvements all the time to solar, company Power Roll developed paper thin cells which can be put onto roofs that would otherwise not take the weight of traditional panels, could be put on top of every bus stop to help power the digital displays. Looking at making them into roof tiles. Not as efficient as standard cells but better than having a roof without them!

Stophe there is no reason why they wont be working on both simultaneously, and a stated timescale of 15 month at Rothesay indicates this will be the case.

However the Protos plastic park I imagine will still be their first to be completed. I assume they are wanting to showcase the site as a whole - in order to role out the whole concept across the country.

the government really needs to do more. These techs are expensive so you need a fair amount of money already to be able to benefit from them.
The people who would benefit from the savings the most, cannot afford to implement them.

government should be forcing every new build, to include solar and heat pumps etc.
plus every time a council house gets refurbed they should be doing the same

partially frustrated as I recently fell out with a mate who I have known for 30 years. Landed himself a nice job and over last 10 years it improved and he has become more and more entitled and more and more arrogant and out of touch with his roots. Has completely lost the value of money, like some of our out of touch politicians and business owners.

So I went a bit OTT when you seemed to be assuming everyone here was wealthy.

I am very thankful for what I have and take nothing for granted.

speak for yourself I don't have huge sums of money invested. Some hard earned savings over 25 year of working like a dog. Only having a chance to invest due to commission free trading platforms.

Maybe after Prem comes good I will end up with huge sums for further investments :)

but disagree with the illegal immigrants, their only hope is NOT taking a trip across from France in a rickety dinghy - they can seek asylum from any of the European countries they travelled through to get to us. Most of them are men in their late teens/early twenties, economic migrants, not people fleeing war torn countries - otherwise there would be a lot more women and children with them. You're right, they should be happy for ANY kind of existence - but they are not, they press on with unnecessary danger to get to UK.

I absolutely welcome genuine asylum seekers and we are not doing anywhere near enough for the Ukrainians for example.
The illegal ones - quite happy for them to be exported to Rwanda.
