Darien - you are right. Looney needs to deliver come Tuesday.

He set out on a vision (which tbh makes sense in the long term) but there was no substance behind what he set out. Other than the fact that we need to be more environmentally friendly which, in reality most of the world knows (regardless on if they agree/disagree).

If he doesnt show up this Q then we can expect this SP to drop further.

Hoping it holds out in the 190 range until then....

Gavster - it seems like many are expecting a divi cut as the yields are pretty decent at this SP.

It seems like BP were very reluctant to cut divi back in in August (based on a radio interview with looney last month - that's the impression he gave anyway!)

I can't see it falling below 190 but I didn't see it falling below 220 either....

The FX rate will impact the Sp slightly but atm their are greater forces at play.

Really hope it doesn't drop below 195....still hoping Q3 results will have some beneficial impact....maybe looney can sell his strategy a bit better.

Yes for sure. I'm of a similiar opinion that Q3 results won't be anywhere near as bad as Q2 and hopefully, Looney can outline is strategy clearly in terms of the financial benefits etc.

Recent sales of assets and redundancy could potentially cut costs further and iv seen a number of articles where BP have started new drilling for gas/oil with partners.

So I am rather optimistic for next week tbh.

Diversification is important.

I persoanlly need this back up to the 300 mark which I don't think is unrealistic if the mid term. I think il be giving shares a break when and if that happens as trading in the current climate was not something for me (not seasoned like some of the other traders out there!)

I have come across a few posts where folks are expecting it to be below 200 at some point. I personally don't see it dropping to those levels as the support seems to be decent around the 204 marks. Having said that, atm anything is possible. I just think the divi yield would be too good to miss sub 200.

A no deal brexit seems more likely atm and flashing up under all news channels....the share price hasn't been impacted much by this....would it be naive to say if it hasn't caused any major drops, its probably irrelevant. Besides lloyds mains bsn is done in the UK.

Maybe this trade deal has been overhyped on this forum??

This is the positive news i mentioned in my earlier post. There is no actual negative news out there which directly relates to BP (other than this Covid-19/Lockdown BS thats going on atm).

The problem is, the SP has not reacted one bit to this news for whatever reason (maybe share price is being suppressed for some reason).

I honestly think a half decent Q3 with maybe emphasis on the above activities (showing how it can add to shareholder value) could see the SP jump slightly - that is of course for a medium term jump.

Hold this longer and we will see a greater jump come 2021.

Its just baffling how no positive news is impacted this SP atm yet any piece of negative news sends it plummeting...unprecedent ant times for sure.

I hear where you are coming from.

Main question is when these HFs will back off?? i dont see them doing this for much longer if i am honesty but then again, i havent done the research to know (really i just hope they dont do it for much longer!!).

I still do think Q3 results will help it spike a little (obviously not to the levels seen before) but thats just my opinion i guess.

Logic would say we will see an improvement in the SP especially with the amount of positive news of BPs activities in the Oil and Gas sector (new drilling and partnerships etc).

However, in the current climate, nothing works to logic or we would all be making ££££

I have not come across a piece of negative news about BP over the last month or so but only positive news articles which would increase shareholder value in the LT but share price continues to drop - i think that is to do with Covid-19. I don't think the US presidential elections will have a major impact on the SP.

I am a holder of BP shares making a massive loss (a loss that i probably cant afford in life atm) but I am holding on, i think we will see a bounce but not sure when (i do hope its towards the back end of this month with Q3 results).

I honestly don't see this share dropping below 180/190ish (that's just a ridiculous low) but that's only my opinion.

I'm waffling on now but honestly, No1 on this forum can predict anything atm...come Oct 27th it may shoot to 300....it may not move or it may even drop (im hoping it shoots up!!)

Those with an average of 380+ need the pump atm (myself included)....those who bought in at lower prices only need a little pump!!

Not far off but would be great to finish at 29 or higher!!

Its an actual shame on how many people are actually losing on this but I think we will see a return to 300 mark for sure (not sure when but would be very surprised if its anytime soon!).

My average is in the region of 280 so 300 would be in a small profit but probably hold this for a few a while.

I know the rating is a buy atm but not seen anything about a conviction buy - as a BP share holder i hope that is true as it could mean some big investors may be coming in for this in the coming weeks/months.

I still think BP at such lows would be a great purchase but i have spent most of my money on purchases at 279 and 259!!

Not sure how this will impact share prices etc but goes to show that Oil/Gas will still be in massive demand regardless of this green movement. Either BP will benefit from this or they will sell their holdings in the company freeing up more cash?

I am at an average of 270p per share and losing a good chunk of money. I agree, if current dividend yield is maintained in Q3 results then we have a share on our hands with a decent dividend yield which may be to good to miss out on - not forgetting that its also a share which may bring some decent growth in the coming months/years.

I made the mistake of constantly looking at my positions and worrying etc but now iv just set alerts on and put my phone away (as Ben advised in a previous thread). i will try to not look at it again but hopefully the next time i look at it (a few months) i will be in a better position - just like the most of you on here!! stay positive
