Granted the new variant seems to be of concern but so was the delta...and we didn't have a lockdown with the delta. More information is required on the new variant but is this drop overdone? I think so.

Never imagined this to be in 40s it is what it is. Europe isn't looking too good but that shouldn't impact cineworlds performance given that the US is their main market followed by the UK. Also rumours of this new variant being about since June...

Expecting a bounce here but would be disappointed to see a further drop. Either way my game plan remains unchanged - going to hold this until we hit £1+ (whenever that is).

Also the rate at which vaccines and pills are coming out i think we are in a much better place to deal with any sort of variant that gets thrown at us. Just my opinion.

If lambo thinks we need to pay 700k and will run out of cash etc etc then fine - but why waste time on a board or commenting on a board where you think the company isn't going to last....just for my understanding as i can't comprehend the logic behind wasting time commenting on a board about a company running out of cash etc etc when you are not invested in it? I agree in the sense that the movie line up may not be spectacular or in the volumes seen in the past but i believe most would generate a lot more than they would have if relased in say 2019 where there was so much choice.

I've been busy with my daughter recently so not been able to visit cinemas as much as i would like to but everytime I've been its been busy (accept this may be isolated to a small northern town but none the less it's been rammed). I went yday to watch dune and the cinema was absolutely rammed.

Everytime i get free time now on an evening id just pop in to watch whatever is on (because I've missed cinema) where as in the past i only attended to watch certain movies. There will be plenty of like minded people who will hit the cinema simply because they've missed it.

We also need to remember we will be hitting winter soon and america is still behind the UK in terms of recovery so poor weather coupled with this may just lift the numbers further!

I agree with the views of negative/slightly misleading reports on the news. I find the stats a bit misleading as "its deaths within 28days of testing positive with covid" and not necessarily deaths caused by covid.

Generally agree with the fact that we need to learn to live with the virus but if hospitalization continue to rise, we need to know why and who make up these hospitalization numbers i.e. young/old/vaccinated/unvaccinated etc and then address the issue. If say 70% of hospitalizations consist of unvaccinated humans then we know where the issue is.

GP surgeries operating at limited capacity also does not help the situation.

Yup, just put on the news whilst WFH and Covid Hospitalizations is currently the topic of discussion.

Don't want to get ahead of myself here but cineworld sp heading in the opposite direction to its american counterparts (cineplex & amc) as well as the travel sector. All were down whilst cineworld was up.

Now I've said that, bet we finish in the red tomorrow....will hold till we are clear of the £1.20 mark again (whenever that is).

They don't really hold any weight. What was discussed in the texts etc was just reality. Cineworld talking about how paying 35 would be stupid in the current climate but that's about it (who can argue against that?)....to me its a weak argument atm.

Bonkers, yes i agree. However, I'm already in IAG and Cineworld (main holdings) as well as a few other AIM...i also finally get the keys to my house tomorrow (unfortunately, not from the proceeds of investing) so i am completely dry.

Hopefully, cineworld will pay for a few bills over the next few months/2022!! Might even clear 10% of the mortgage if I'm really lucky!!
