@starbright Does the PUOSU deadline of 29/3 still hold? Could this be extended further? These negotiations always take longer than expected or intended and if they overrun is JD barred from bidding? What if another party was to enter the bidding? Appreciate your thoughts

Bucket a total of approx £435k was traded today. That is not a big number, its not even half the 30 day average. Its existing PIs panicking and selling respectively discovering SDRY and buying / trading.

Stuff is obviously happening behind NDA's but there is no new news atm.

The wall of noise on this BB is truly amazing. Just for comparison have a look at CURY BB where a similar game is in play but a somewhat more restrained and less emotional debate is taking place. AIMHO GLA SDRYers

If this falls / rolls over because JD cant or doesnt want to raise the money, Mike A, the new Sir Philip of the high street (just without the knighthood and apparently slightly better manners) is waiting in the wings. I imagine he would quite like to tuck this away in the Frasers group under Matches where it would perhaps be a very good online fit. Strong brand recognition and seemingly decent kit even if now a little dated etc. -ve would be he'd probably pick it up at a knock-down price. JD would be a bit irked but who knows then maybe a scrap over SDRY could start and Mikey would love it. So would I. GLA SDRY fans AIMHO

Hi Munichmann, no criticism intended re size of trade. We are at a stage in this game where ordinarily it would be expected to see substantial volume - av day vol 30 days is 5mm, way above 3mm today. If vol isnt there, why not? On 2.2 as a result of JDs announcement vol hit 32mm. Of course it would, so it should and the sp spiralled up. Today, the day before its supposed to be cards on the table time we are at 3mm. Surely there is still big money and II's wanting in - catch the last train. Didnt happen and they didnt all get a ticket on 2.2. It doesnt stack up. Might all be different tomorrow morning but the odds are now lower. A good RNS in the morning and we are off to the races - Cheltenham or wherever. Of course could be completely wrong and NDAs are water tight and nobody has blabbed - yes I hear you laughing! This looks like going to extra time and hopefully no penalties unless of course a German team is involved and then we all know what the result will be :) GLA AIMHO

Hi Munichmann £42k is not large. Its a punt. If there had been numerous £50k orders in the last 30 mins I might have shared your enthusiasm. It looks as though 2.8mm shares were traded today and thats way below what I would have expected if a deal was about to be done. Not even much sign of FOMO. Being invested here I wish it was otherwise but feel that an extension is to be announced. At least hope that be the case if no +ve RNS at 07:00 tomorrow. GLA LTH of SDRY AIMHO

Still very low volume. Last big day was 2.2. Plenty of PIs buying / selling, but meaningful trades? Considering the rapidly approaching deadline would have expected volume to increase. Lack of enthusiasm by smart money? Or is an extension looks likely? Quite strange really

Regrettably the situation seems that our great JOG opportunity has been derailed by political ambition and chicanery, which as DU eloquently describes as vote “scrounging” by parties of all political persuasions. After all, how many votes can be relied upon from investors in NS carbon producing co’s?? (Q. Have they - politicians - really thought this through or don’t they give a s??t how the electorate are going to drive their vehicles, heat their homes, plastic package their food etc in the immediate future or should we simply rely upon supply from others - now there’s a question - look what happened with gas!!).

I am a lth of JOG but also HBR (no cross ramp intended).

It would be great to see JOG playing on a level pitch without the posts permanently moving but that is the world in which we live.

Certain NS oil co leaders eg HBR, have expressed the nonsense of the so called “wft” which isn’t in fact a WF but much more WTF tax!

I remain invested in JOG but my hopes of sp appreciation in the next 5 years are shrinking.

Dick fully agreed. Patience is hard work but it’s very valuable.

Investing in co’s with strong and honest management whose views and ambitions align with mine or mine with theirs is also important for me personally.

Trading in and out consumes much energy and very few get the timing right.

The key is judging when a co is under valued respectively over valued. These are going to be the triggers to entry and exit. The bit in between, is the time to judiciously add (if possible) and enjoy (subjective term) the journey. Of course if the facts do change during the journey then it would be wise to review the investment rather than hopefully clinging to a dream that has changed. GLA Jog’lers and AIMHO

CTL appears, (along with many other Li co's) to be receiving a pummelling atm. Quite possibly nothing to do with its own dynamics. Thought about adding today but my av is lower so held off wondering if we might get treated to some lower opps tomorrow. Hit the 50 day ma at close. May be bounce in the a.m.? Would like to understand why down today on back of the RNS?

Quite new to CTL but looks like a company with a good management, great asset, good strategy and good local politics. Whats not to like with a LT perspective.

How strange that a positive RNS announcing collaboration with the local university leads to downwards pressure on the sp.

Such investment into the local community and building the opportunity to benefit from a quality workforce and research should be applauded. AIMHO GLA

Interesting to note the sales growth BAT had with their vapes in the US. The following was on todays IC site:

British American Tobacco (BATS) shares fell by 3 per cent in early trading after the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said yesterday that the company’s subsidiary R.J. Reynolds Vapor Company must stop selling key e-cigarette products in the US.

Amidst fears about the growing take-up of e-cigarettes by young people, the FDA issued marketing denial orders for six Vuse Alto vape products. Vuse is the biggest-selling vaping brand in the US, and the ban includes the most popular menthol-flavoured vape. The regulator said that Reynolds had not successfully argued that the products “provided an added benefit for adults who smoke cigarettes - in terms of complete switching or significant smoking reduction - relative to that of tobacco-flavoured products that is sufficient to outweigh the known risks to youth.”

Reynolds said it would challenge the decision. The FDA’s move is a significant blow to BATS as it tries to pivot to high-growth non-traditional products. The company’s US Vuse sales grew by 29.4 per cent to £520mn in the six months to 30 June.
