I agree fridge, this is a long term play and should outdo it's previous highs eventually. Its a shame when the pandemic hit, as I recall from the half year results they were on for another 10% growth and that would have pushed this share over £5 thanks to expansion in the US and Europe in my opinion. In his last presentation last June, Dean Finch outlined how they were planning to capitalise on the demise of the smaller less well financed smaller players and im looking forward to hearing about more contract wins in the next trading update. @farhan, the recovery in travel will be driven domestically first, and NEX are all about domestic travel so will rebound quicker than most other travel stocks. The US have prioritised getting schools back too and the US school bus accounts for over 25% of revenue I think. All the best. C

After having a great deal of success with NEX and having taken delivery of a good chunk of dry powder, I'm looking for another good recovery stock that is yet to breakout in the way NEX has done in the last couple of weeks. I'm encouraged by the Covid recovery and need to diversify a bit as I already have plenty invested here which I'm happy to sit on, but want to follow the same strategy, so where else are others invested?
I've had a good look at SSP as they too have had historically a large amount if institutional investment and although exposed to air, also have a huge presence in domestic travel and have traded in a range for the last 3 months like NEX, and could be due to breakout as institutional investment gains confidence.
All thoughts welcome and taken with the usual T's&c's

Hi, I like the look of SSP and having had really good success with National Express over the last 5 months, I'm looking for another good recovery stock that could breakout as the global outlook starts to improve. I'm looking for a stock not as out there in terms of risk as the airlines, but still has plenty of room to recover. I've downloaded the 2020 results presentation from 2020 and although there is a fairly high dependency on air travel, the US market is mainly domestic and there is a good mix of rail related locations which a domestic travel recovery should benefit from. I also see the cash burn is down to 25-50 mil, but what strikes me is the cash reserves of just over 500 mil. Is anyone prepared to put themselves out there and outline why they are invested here? just read the RNS again and although disappointing to say the least, does it not suggest that the other sites are looking really promising and they want to re-design the plans to maximise the economies of scale by building the ancillary services that can support all the exploration sites in Cascabel? Just a thought...

@shigaroo, no proper explaination, eh?! ....Globally, one of the most successful vaccine rollout programmes lead by a home grown vaccine, overseen by some of the worlds finest vaccinologists, this is a recovery gathering momentum and that is what the current sp reflects. Let's not also forget that historically, nex has 72% institutional ownership and by the looks of some of the massive orders filled over the last 10 days, those performing the technical analysis to convince the fund managers to buy heavily into nex have evey faith we are heading in the right direction, and they are paid to get these things right. Must admit, I did think it would take a couple more weeks for us to smash through £3, but this still has a long way to go, so smart investors want aboard the fun bus, as they know NEX have been winning contracts and there is still plenty of upside from here. That my friend is the explanation, so raid the kids piggy bank and BUY in! All the best. C

Welcome to the board CasualInvestor, to get to £3.60, we will need divis reinstating in my opinion but no reason why this shouldn't be the case if things stay on track so £3.60 is achievable with a good following wind. Although small divis than before as no doubt Nex will want to replenish cash reserves. Stick with it, hold and enjoy the ride. C

I sold 30k shares at 229 a few weeks, they went straight back up, i panicked at bought back in at 240, then they went back to 218. #muppet. We've all done it, that's why regardless of weekly news flow, good or bad, I try and hold this one as its only going one way and still has a long way to go. No doubt some usual Friday profit taking tomorrow but a great week so far. All the best. C

Great to see us finish the day +270. Variants are the big risk and for the sake of everyone's sanity, let's hope the vaccines win this race. If as a country, we have 20 mil+ people vaccinated by the end of Feb and less than 4-5000 infections a day we could easily see £3 in the next 4-6 weeks. Great to see the Americans are progress well too and getting their schools back open is a priority. Combined with hopefully some contract wins, things look good from here. All IMHO. All the best, C

Anyone else noticed a lot of grouped 50k sells over the last 4 weeks? I've noticed it umpteen times now and again this morning.

What a crazy opening, 4.5% down. After I checked this was nothing other than a market over reaction, there was only one thing for it, a cheeky day trade, bought 3.5k shares, sold em after lunch ( not a the most opportune moment ), but still just under £100 profit. Better than a kick in the stones. Held up reasonably well the last 2 day. Have a good weekend all. C

Nice to see us back on track NEX-generation... just need to keep Bozza in his box and tell Europe to keep their fifty mits off our vaccine and sort their own s**t out and we're good for £3 by spring! Don't panic Mr Mainwaring! :-)

I feel this drop is rather overdone for NEX. I bought a chunk just under 250 this morning as I felt it was holding up well at 09.00am. #facepalm

Thanks for your thoughts trend, I remain a LTH here as believe the medium to long term looks good, its the short term that may be a bit bumpy and I wouldn't be surprised of we test the mid 240's again this week. We should be due a trading update some time soon, however with operations limited, I wouldn't be surprised if we hear nothing till early February, unless there are more contarct wins to update sh's on. Feels like we're a bit in no man's land at the moment, but still, lets all just stay healthy and this share will reward in time. C

With comments coming out of government over the last 2 days, there seems little doubt that this lockdown is going to fo on longer then most thought (myself included). With the press conference this evening in mind, whats people's thoughts on how the start of next week nay go?

Its been the same with hsbc for the last 6 months. When I asked, it was because of market volatility they were getting 'misfiring trades' which was costing them money, so they blocked trading on certain volatile shares. Try calling them but sounds like the same issue. All the best

I agree @big-blue, I have a healthy chunk in IAG, and will only be adding to my holding tomorrow morning once I start to see the inevitable drop flattern out. I'm envious of the hedge fund who managed to dump 43m quids worth of shares last thing Friday, as you can bet they will be buying them back tomorrow morning. Easy money if you know what you are doing! Wouldn't be surprised if this hit 150 early doors then finished up on 1 or 2 % down. Good luck all, tomorrow is a good day to make a few quid if you have any dry powder! :-)

The post 14:00 push on this share seems to be regular as clockwork on a green day. Decent start to the day, tails off mid morning and presents buying opportunities until early afternoon, then then the push upwards. If I were a day trader, this would be a good share to use for sure. Another good day to be in Nex though.

I hope a few of these panicked PI's sell in the morning as a result of this already priced in news. A good chunk of my remaining dry powder is going to get put to use if this traces back a smidge. Let's hope for another week like last for NEX, and some leveling off of these awful Covid numbers. All the best for the week ahead all. C
