Purchase tax was more commonly known as the luxury tax and was applied to things like fur coats, Rolls Royces etc whereas VAT was applied to most things even down to toilet rolls, toothpaste, sanitary towels etc.

That's far from being a simple name change!

The Cons negotiated the Brexit "deal" and Rodney spurned Farage's offer to help with a US deal so to blame him or anyone else doesn't really stack up.

TBH nom I'm more concerned about what they've done to the basic fabric of the country - the economy failing, unemployment up, crime through the roof, our heritage etc. than whether anyone buys a frigging TV licence or not.

IMHO this is seriously under valued and with four more years of the present govt to endure the budget end of the market will see enormous growth until they're booted out or do the honourable thing.

Thought for a minute that was the latest prediction of our immigration costs by the time Rodders is booted out.

Now the economy is absolutely motoring, the gangs smashed, unemployment falling, taxes not going up, a new hospital on every street corner, the welfare reforms done and dusted etc I guess there is now no need for Reform.

We may have voted to leave the eu in 2016 but weren't actually free to do a trade deal with the US until a few months before Biden took office, and we all know his stance.

That said Farage wasn't even an MP at that time and Rodders refused his help when he became one.

Two important questions kenny.

1/ How much are we giving the French this time?

2/ As it will be run from and administered by the French does he really believe they will send us anyone other than their worst?

I appreciate they will have to have a link to the UK such as having watched an episode of Eastenders but no way will the French help us.

Farage wasn't involved in the eu or US negotiations and I presume you refer to his appearances on RT as "Russian links." Might be worth checking out the list of MP's who were also guests, including the likes of John McDonnell & Jeremy Corbin, although Farage wasn't actually an MP at the time.

First I've heard of any political link to Adolf Hitler or the Nazis other than muck spreading like the claim he wants to abandon the NHS!
