Jesus, 10-15 trading days before we get confirmation oil is flowing freely which would then allow an upside of up to 900 BOPD, which in turn funds them moving forward for all other drills, having well over £1M per month net profit with substantial upside!

The RNS was actually quite ambiguous. It actually says an update will be given once the sidetrack has been completed and once a stabilised and sustained flow rate has been achieved.

Therefore its possible we may get two, one saying the sidetrack has been completed and one later detailing the flow rates, otherwise why include the word 'and' in the paragraph?

I'm expecting two, one next week and one later this month or early next month.

BBG It surprises me that you think the ESIA and the IPA would have been executed without any announcement to that effect. But if thats your view, and that you also believe the exploitation agreement will also be signed and sorted with the government within the next six weeks, well I look forward to hearing about them. Personally I think your timescales are way out.

My take is that the loan gets us to September which I think is significant as the Ecuadorian Energy Minister has previously stated the Exploitation Agreement will be signed off by the Government in August. Therefore I expect everything apart from the Environmental Agreement to be sorted by then, including the finance. Three months maximum before we know, although I very much doubt we'll be selling the company, everything relates to Cascabel, as I see it anyway.

Steve I may be wrong but think UJO do around 450 BOPD? This well alone could do 900, which in turn would fund additional drills with a forecast of up to 4000 BOPD. The scale od this opportunity is massive.

Highly likely this will move rapidly higher today and again Monday leading into news. Just my opinion.

And the SP will be many multiples higher when it does deliver, up to 900 BOPD so your point is what exactly?

Despite the concerted (and successful) efforts to drive the SP to yearly lows the facts remain the same. There is no reason to believe the sidetrack will not be successful and Beacon will be producing hundreds of barrels of oil as soon as next week.

For those with weak hands it's important to realise your biggest enemy is your own emotions.

This will bounce back hard, and soon in my opinion.

Spreadex offloading their last batch imo. Better times ahead.

Sheep you don't have to be a rocket scientist to predict a downward trend when someone like Spreadex is offloading their hedge and selling around 600m shares. Holders should know that if they're not out they must be running on fumes now.

Personally I'd much rather they've sold out before news as there should be very little to suppress the expected rise when good news is released next week. Of course there's still risk but the potential upside vastly outweigh it, in my opinion.

Hepseal the longer we hear nothing the more our odds increase as it becomes safe to assume the sidetrack itself successful.

Then it's a question of can the pump extract the oil, but we know from the data logs where the invasion zone (skin) was and that the contractors have been ultra conservative on the trajectory to ensure they hit the reservoir.

Whiteknight I respect your view but you know as well as I do the SP is irrelevant at this point, especially on loe volume.

For balance against your negatively, Beacon have experienced contractors for sidetrack drilling, statistical analysis on sidetracks prove over a 70% success rate, based on drilling taking 2 days even you would agree drilling has been completed days ago and based on the fact any negative news would hahad to be RNS'd (and we've heard nothing), I would say the probability of success here is 85%. Therefore I like my odds and really really don't like yours.

let's just be honest. whiteknight is no expert on anything, he has just got a short opened on beacon and is ****ing himself that beacon are successful as he won't only get burnt he'll be fried.

Ra11 If the sidetrack is successful (with the drilling complete and no negative RNS there's every likelihood it was), I see Beacon as a good long term hold as even though this well could do 900 BOPD they would be fully funded for additional drilling at prospects far bigger than this well. I said yesterday they could well become a very serious player in the near term.

I'm not sure what to make of today's news to be honest. Seems to be more of a holding RNS, doesn't expand on what we already knew from the Canadian conference.
