Paddy the only ones I can see providing around $1bn in financing are miners. Barrick, Newmont, BHP or most likely Jangxi (as I'm sure Jian Liu was brought in as a Director for a reason) all spring to mind.

HFM this financing will be subject to necessary permits and land acquisitions so I'm sure it will focus the minds of those who look like missing out.

The clocks definitely ticking.

HFM one would assume a 'significant portion' of the initial capital would mean anywhere from $500m to $1bn in finance. The first question is, who us providing the finance and what are they getting in return. However this plays out its going to prove that Cascabel is a multi billion dollar asset and in turn SOLG is a multi billion company.

Once this financial package is in place I believe the SP will rerate to levels seen in previous years, and inform all potential suitors of what's required to buy either Cascabel or the company itself. In other words, the news I think is imminent is going to be big, big for the company and certainly big for shareholders.

Recent milestones

1. MOU for new Hydro-Solar Energy plant.

2. $3.2bn CIPA signed.

3. Revised PFS published.

4. Exploitation Contract signed.

In my opinion the next milestone will be financial and its important to remember what SOLG recently stated. "The BOD are pleased to share the substantial progress made in our financial initiatives. Management is currently in detailed discussions with capital providers who have shown a strong interest in committing to a robust, longer term financing package. The proposed financing is projected to cover A SIGNIFICANT PORTION of the estimated initial capital development costs ($1.55bn?), highlighting its position as a Tier 1 asset".

My personal feeling is the financial package will be concluded within the next 15 trading days and may be in someway connected to Scott's presentation at Hannam and Partners in London on the 27th June.

Eloro I have no idea. Hopefully find out this month.

Don't forget Newmont have stated they are not adverse to partnering majors like BHP, so maybe that's the most likely option in order to counter the Chinese threat, although I still think the Chinese will probably up with SOLG.

NAL I may have got a prediction of the SP wrong but if the market severely undervalues SOLG there's not a lot I can do about it. It'll correct over time.

Very interesting 1984. The main thing I took from the Exploitation Agreement was dispute resolution to go to international arbitration.

I think when the financial package is unveiled before the 27th we'll get an even better understanding of the value of Cascabel.

All in all it's looking very promising for shareholders imo.

Scott Caldwell will present at the Future Copper Giants event hosted by Hannam and Partners on June 27th.

I believe as part of the presentation we'll hear details of a huge funding event, therefore we can expect to find out all details in advance for through an RNS.

We'll soon find out what's put a smile on those faces.
