Awaiting the RNS.....19 Dec 2023 08:09
Given the formal, regulated 'Take-Over Bid' window closed yeterday I was expecting an RNS to land 1st thing today.
If the RNS is going to be a simple, 'cross the Ts, dot the Is' update to confirm window has close and there was not significant activity of interest I think the RNS would have been released by now.
There was a flurry of buying yesterday which may be linked to M&A.
My guess is that as with all deadlines (Think Transfer Windows in football, Court hearings, Brexit deadlines) there is late activity which will have an impact on the RNS update. My overwhelming thoughts are very positive;
In the more unlikely,scenario, the alternative being that their is significant misalignment between how MMAG value the business VS what bargain hunters are wanting to pay.
Never forget that the majority of shares have been held by key stakeholders - The following all have holding over 10% and have not blinked - Private Equity, Founders, Schroders. For different reasons none of these parties would still be holding if the value in the business was not there
For balance I will share my own analysis later this morning on what a worst case scenario might look like here; although pardon the spoilre, but my worst case still puts a value on this business that is materially higher than the current mCAP.
