And this could dovetail perfectly with a spin-out floatation of Grosvenor Technology in America.

This is precisely the sort of capital investment that IPO investors love to fund, as opposed to just covering ongoing losses, especially in the current risk-averse environment.

Newmark's CEO Marie-Claire presented at the Security Investors Conference in New York last month, and doubtless this was an issue she discussed with strategic investors.

With tariffs, Trump will be wary of the law of 'unintended consequences'.

I.e. unduly hurting domestic American businesses using imported components-materials.

And the UK looks particularly well-placed to avoid increased American tariffs, even before a UK-US trade deal: because the US has a trade surplus with the UK, and the UK is outside of the EU.

Dear Shareholders,

I am pleased to present the interim accounts for the six-month period to 31 October 2024 for Citius Resources Plc. The Company is in the final stages with the UK Regulator of the acquisition of 100% of the issued shares in Harena Resources Pty Ltd ("Harena") the 75% owner of the Ampasindava Rare Earths Project in Madagascar (the, "Acquisition"). Harena is an Australian domiciled company preparing to develop the 75% owned Ampasindava Rare Earths Project, which includes targeting the mining and processing of Ionic Clay material to extract Rare Earth elements to produce Mixed Rare Earth Carbonate or Mixed Rare Earth Concentrate.

The Acquisition will constitute a Reverse Take Over under the Listing Rules and accordingly, the company will apply for re-admission of its shares to the Official List and Main Market of the London Stock Exchange following an Extraordinary General Meeting.

I would like to thank all our shareholders for their patience and we look forward to finally applying for re-admission and moving the Ampasindava Rare Earths project forward.

And he's not so new now, as he joined Newmark as Chief Financial Officer in September 2021 ... time flies whey you're enjoying yourself!

CFO's are regarded as being relatively financially conservative, as well as having a very good understanding of the financial outlook for the business: so their director buying is perhaps seen as the most influential.

At NWT's current s.p. of 72.5p, a joint one-month high, it looks like its shorter term downtrend has reversed, with good support at about the 70p level.

The large volume on Tues. 14.1.25 (48,505 shares traded, over half a percent of the NWT shares in issue, s.p. up 2.5p) was the highest one-day volume since last January, and such large volume can often mark a bottom, as a seller exits.

Indeed NWT's s.p. fallback in Q4 of last year could have been a blessing in disguise, if we've got rid of a weaker holder, and the shares are now in 'stickier hands'.

As it should help a rise to maintain momentum, & be more sustainable.

The interim results and IMC presentation next week should start things Rolling, helped by e.g.:-

• A revised broker note on NWT: preferably with an explicit BUY recommendation, & perhaps a s.p. target.

• More director share buying.

"Q. When you see a trade go through for say 12 shares or even 1 share, what is that all about?

Surely it can't be a personal investor, is it some sort of balancing act?

A: Say there are 1,100 shares available to buy on the order book. Someone buys 1,080 leaving 20 shares there on the book. A Trump presidency could benefit some technology stocks, especially those less exposed to the impact of tariffs. We also know from his first presidency that his ideals involved reducing the burden of regulation. That could be perceived as a supportive move for corporations.

Trump has also consistently challenged the fossil fuel industry, advocating for deregulation to boost oil, gas and coal production. In his previous presidency he rolled back more than 100 environmental rules.

One area where Trump and his rival presidential candidate Kamala Harris seemed aligned was their 'America first' approach. This could see initiatives aimed at defending local manufacturing and businesses, protecting American jobs and strengthening the US economy.

What impact could the US election have on international markets?

Another shared value is a relatively tough stance against China, deemed a major and strategic rival. Although, Trump takes a more extreme view on how to deal with competition from Chinese companies.

Trying to predict the impact of a trade war or tariff exchanges with countries like China is difficult. A lot depends on how other countries react to US foreign policy under the incoming president.

During the trade war with China under Trump's former presidency, we saw additional inflation within the US, but no major impacts on global trade. However, ongoing trade tensions and the potential for tariffs could pose risks to companies with international supply chains or markets.

Where there could be real uncertainty is in US foreign policy with countries like Russia.

We know from his former presidency that Trump is likely to be more engaged with them than outgoing president Joe Biden has been.

This has potential knock-on effects for Europe and its energy policy, after it shifted its reliance from Russia to the US for its energy supply following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

A negotiated settlement between Russia and Ukraine would be positive for the world economy and reduce the perceived risk in markets - but most importantly for the devastating human impacts we've seen so far.

We think the 47th president of the United States' impact on the US stock market could be positive for smaller companies.

In the campaign trail, Trump mooted a blanket 20% tariff on all imports into the US. Trade tariffs favour domestic businesses over international conglomerates, and smaller companies are usually more domestically focussed, though investing in them carries more risk.

Trump has also promised cuts to corporate taxes, which is positive for companies earnings - and therefore could be beneficial to stock prices. ... What impact could a Trump presidency have on the markets?

We know too well that the past is rarely an accurate guide to the future. However, we can take some cues from what we know about Trump's time in office so far.

Trump's presidency from 2016 was received positively by the markets overall. This was thanks to some corporate-friendly policies.

However, his style of presidency caused some volatility.

This often came down to the market's tendency to focus on Trump's social media announcements.

It's difficult to interpret the logic and detail of an announcement made via a social media post and we know that the market doesn't like uncertainty, so this creates volatility.

We can expect to see a continuation of this style in his upcoming presidency.

And this time around, Trump will be inheriting record levels of US deficits. This means his room for manoeuvre when it comes to fiscal policies and spending is more restricted.

Despite this, Trump is proposing to cut corporate taxes, which is positive for companies' earnings - and therefore stock prices. However, these tax cuts aren't expected to be fully funded through spending cuts and could therefore push up the deficit further.

Trump is also proposing tighter controls on immigration, including the removal of undocumented migrants. This could reduce the size of the labour force, pushing up wages, and send consumer prices higher.
