Thanks FN. A question - does the cell run continuously or does the MSP unit communicate with the cell and switch it on and off to ensure it maintains a certain level of charge?

Very similar to Pom and Dol on the PHE board - esp the cut and paste approach.

As a non-EV vehicle won't need to interact with the AFC unit at all there isn't much AFC could do. They really need to install technology at the parking point to read the number plate and levy a fine if it relates to a non-EV car. Shouldn't be too difficult to do given tech already in place for trapping drivers.

What powers an ammonia cracker then?

Perhaps something for the future, and has already been pointed out ammonia is more suitable at present.

If AlkaMem can be used for water electrolysis could it not be used to produce hydrogen for an AFC fuel cell and avoid the need for ammonia at all? Just need a suitable water supply?

I may be wrong here but if AlchaMem can be used to produce hydrogen then it could be used to power the production of ammonia, as opposed to using natural gas?

What it doesn’t confirm is that there are no orders yet but as usual it’s open to interpretation. I’m with the optimists.

I agree and think they may have generated a sale (perhaps discounted) so they can do this - I’d be more inclined to order one if I know I’m not the first.

So they already have orders??

We also come high on the list of alphabetically ordered fuel cell companies which also helps when only the first few are mentioned - a small but not insignificant advantage!

The important thing is they concentrate on the quickest route to revenue and they do appear to be doing that. Longer term I’m not sure what the most lucrative will be for them - big numbers are quotes against the membrane but is this small fry to installations such as Southern?

Sharesport - the deal was done while they were developing the S cells and membrane (in the last 24 months) so I’d say the strategy hasn’t changed

One thing we’ve recently learnt is that no news doesn’t necessarily mean there is nothing happening!

Good to hear you will hopefully benefit from AFC still. With luck both your plans will come good.

Also may be best to keep the cracker separate to allow for easy replacement / repair and avoid it interfering with the AFC plant

Mitch - your link shows the EV charger as opposed to the container on the new website. Asks the question whether they are going to be different or whether one picture (or both) are illustrations.

I wonder what sizes will be catered for by a single container? Also whether a cracker will be part of the delivered unit or a separate piece of external kit. Probably external so each container will have a single ‘hydrogen in’ port.
