So with all this activity going along before we see the 25tpd unit in action is it reasonable to assume that any serious concerns with scaling up have been addressed already?

Sorry - concept meaning it works scaled up, not to prove it works at all which we know it does...

And trustworthy hopefully... So with the DMG proved at small scale I wonder what assurances can be provided for the 25tpd model? Perhaps this funding is not only for the first working model but also to prove the concept. I’m not aware of any larger scale components that have been proved yet - or is this not he case? (I’ll wait patiently for the ‘snap crackle and pop’ line...)

All this hinges on the 25tpd unit being built and tested successfully - have I missed this happening or are we expecting news imminently? Could Toyota play a role in this development?

Gencell are good for AFC - they are helping create a market into which we can move in with a far cheaper product and shine. I would fear for their future if that happens.

Thanks for the response - I would go with processing it at the landfill too along with one of those clever sonic waste sorters I saw on the BBC recently. It’s amazing how much stuff there is in existing landfill that could be processed to avoid the long term effects of it sitting there rotting (or not as the case is due to a lack of oxygen).

Hi telephoneman - interesting calcs. In your opinion where does the process to process the waste into feedstock happen and the costs of this?

Kore was/is a multi 10kw system so I don’t see them deviating much from that model - a BoP for multiple stacks will always have a limit somewhere. Also they have confirmed a 10kw stack won’t actually produce 10kw - something like 9.8kw to achieve the required longevity. A 400kw installation will then need 41 stacks. Will be interesting to see how it all gets packaged up.

4444 - As an R&D company with a working product, valuable JV with DeNora and targets for a cost competitive offering by the end of the year I think they are still worth investing in. It’s just a shame I didn’t wait until now...

Depends how much water is used to manufacture and maintain an AFC fuel cell...

Stumbler once said £23 so I’m holding out for that.

So I’m thinking that, given DeNora are apparently spending a lot of their money on AFC, if things weren’t going so well they would split and we would know quickly about that. My logic is then no news is not bad news until told otherwise. Is that fair?
