DougB by now you should know me better. I don't usually go off on one for no reason at all. I first verified for myself that the Amit �500k "news" did indeed come from the usual suspect on Twitter.

Erm... Not wishing to put a dampener on proceedings, but trusting AberdeenMan to give good and unbiassed investment advice is about as smart as trusting your elderly parents' homecare to Dr. Harold Shipman. Haven't people FINALLY wised up to this blatantly agenda-laden and solely self-interested pump n dump merchant yet? Even after his oh so obvious short-term LVRT/NFX dog and pony show... "Multibagger coming! Get in quick at the ground floor! Not many shares left now! 10p by Monday!" FFS...needless to say, anyone following his encouragement is now sitting on 40%+ losses there on a share that's barely trading. But hey, it's your money. Waste it as you wish...

Dougal. Occam's razor. The simplest explanation is always the most likely. Perhaps the reason we don't know anything is because the things we still know nothing about actually don't exist?

@ rnorth, largely correct. However, those few who quite blatantly and deliberately ramped the share to the unwary (remember all the "5 bagger coming!", "Last chance to get in now!" and "10p by Monday!" crap?) have long since sold out to those they suckered and moved on. NFX is now here to live or die on its own merits and that's as it should be. Plus hopefully the word on one of AIM's more loud-mouthed pump and dumpers has started to spread, so less will be fooled for his personal gain in the future. Neither is a bad thing...

Chesh, fully agreed. The satellite broadband business is fuil of self-set targets that are then conclusively missed... however I reckon that the SSW management team have this one in the bag. Again agreed re "getting clear of the sentiment-driven kneejerk flatlands" and onto higher ground territory where the company's very healthy fundamentals can come into play.

Yeah I know them. Good quality VSAT installers in N. Ireland - quality of work is high, but admin/paperwork sometimes isn't their strong point . They use the usual collection of variable quality sub-contractors as far as the rest of the UK is concerned, so there are better installation resources to use than they can offer in that particular geography.

Absolutely IMO. I said a fair while back that the clever money was on the SSW management team having enough going on in the background to ensure that this self-imposed target was hit within the timescale. Actually, whether 97,000 or 103,000 active customers, it wouldn't change the price of cocoa when it comes to fundamentals... but solely from a psychological/sentiment-based point of view, that nice round 100k target is important. Plus it'll of course be a majorly refreshing change to see any company involved in the world of satellite broadband actually achieve a target it's set itself in the time frames that it also set (AVN, anyone?)...

I can answer that re head promoters. One didn't like the light being shone into murky corners and resigned, the other decided that opening a website removed the chance for others to highlight the inconvenient truths behind the puff and spin... and the minor league third, wjho seemed to act as butler or PR monkey for the other two organ grinders is presumably at a loose end without his big brother(s). As a stock, NFX is better off without that sort of misleading, distracting, agenda-laden and substance-free noise surrounding it... as are existing and potential PIs.

I think Hemingway's point was that this share won't be a steady riser until the company has achieved a higher MCAP - and obviously the share price has to rise in the first place to deliver that increased MCAP It's a question of plateaus... SSW hasn't yet reached a higher plateau from which it can then steadily rise based on pure results, business model and fundamentals. It's still on the sentiment-affected plains, if you like... and thus good value as I see it. For all that, IMO all aspects of the business continue to impress me. I'm liking the recurrent revenue based business model that's absolutely not dependent on one sole supplier, the proactive but reasoned acquisitiveness, the deliberate diversification both in terms of territory and service delivery technology and especially the clearly astute senior management team. All good in my view...

Seriously??? Presumably nobody's posting because nobody's got anything to say and/or there's nothing of meaning to currently say about this barely traded share. There was a flurry of posts around this share while the short-term hard rampfest was on. Those behind that have moved on to pastures newer and investors greener, where pickings are easier. What's to worry about, if you believe in NFX? Nothing will change until results of trials are published - until then it's sit and wait with nothing of value to talk about and I'll bet the SP barely moves until that point. Methinks you'll find that a lot more realistic a prediction than all frenzied agenda-laden spin of a couple of weeks back along the lines of "Get in now! Don't miss out! 5 bagger coming! 10p by Monday!"...

Skynet? Sheesh, what next? Terminator invasion? Will this share "be back"? Where's Arnie when you need him...

...where this is going, Why would I? I know about as much on biotech stocks as anyone else who can Google.... so, basically I know precisely nothing of significance re NFX. All I did absolutely know for sure was that it wasn't going to get to the levels being "promoted" by some in the timescales they were mentioning. How did I know that? I've personally seen them do the exact same thing before. The word's now out, which will hopefully restrict such actions in the future. Best wishes to anyone holding. It could be great, it could be dire, or anywhere in between. But hopefully at least, the very short period of agenda-laden misinformation about this stock is over and it'll now perform as it's going to against a realistic background free of spin and deception.

The alternative and in my view somewhat less deranged viewpoint is that counter opinions are every bit as justified as one's own. More to the point, they are almost certainly more valuable for consideration at least, if one only oneself holds the crashingly naive, monofaceted and blinkered opinions of a foaming at the mouth swivel eyed zealot... let alone one obsessed with the Carriage Return key. Always best to try to see both sides of the coin, IMO...

Also agreed. Fundamentally this outfit looks very sound and to me looks like a very good slow burn LTH. Would we really want some volatile substance-free share that rockets up and down in microseconds and thus becomes the darling of cut-throat day traders? Plenty of those on AIM, but I don't think so... who needs the stress?

Yes, don't knock this. By itself it's not a big deal by any means, but there's more worthwhile future potential -and as ever, revenues are recurrent. Another clear sign of SSW's commitment to diversification into other alternate broadband technologies (in this case wireless, just as per the Quickline acquisition). It may well be true that the backhaul to the local FWA network is delivered via satellite in a hybrid type methodology. Plus, inching SSW ever closer to the self-stated 100k subscriber target... what's not to like?

A mature and reasoned individual would be prepared to back up his allegations - and especially when he's claimed to have evidence of such. I note that you on the other hand choose to make accusations about anyone not sharing your own view on NFX and thoroughly slate them, but when asked to produce the proof you claim to have, you avoid any substantiation of such. Quelle surprise. I'll await your proof of "trolling in the worst possible way" (which should be a simple cut n paste job), but I shan't hold my breath.

With the benefit of hindsight (which should be an exact science, even for you), perhaps you could explain why counselling caution on CTAG in the face of an orchestrated ramping campaign that went on for months (IMO with company involvement - the much-publicised email sent by the CEO to one "private investor"? Please.. ) and which has left many investors sitting on substantial losses and locked into a now delisted share was in any way harmful or malign? I don't doubt that trolling exists occasionally on BBs. Nor do I doubt that ramping exists more frequently ("10p by Monday!") or even deramping too, dependant on an individual's agenda. However your CTAG example holds precisely no water. Feel free to post evidence... be my guest.

Wow... and I always thought that AVN's current perilous state was down to D Williams' hyperbole-filled and less than realistic management. But apparently it's all your fault? Tell you what, do the right thing and sell your stake now - the share's bound to GO up MASSIVELY after your exit. I'm sure all other long-suffering holders would be delighted if you took one for the team.

HH by "rabid posters", do you mean those who were constantly shouting "Buy NOW! 10p by Monday!" or those who were saying "Hang on... something smells a little fishy here"? I'm pretty sure I know which set of posters caused more trouble (and why they did it). Be that as it may, where we do agree is that it's now all down to NFX to prove what it can and cannot do - and that's exactly as it should be. Hopefully that will be done in an environment where realism prevails.
