What's more, if ANGS turned over an entire new leaf and started itself to give out even vaguely accurate information now and then, its cheerleaders wouldn't feel the need to continually spew misinformation.

The so-called naysayers simply refer to and quote directly from previously made ANGS assurances, promises, cost and time estimates that have proven time and again in the cold hard light of reality to be utterly wrong.

Example, taken verbatim from an ANGS RNS: "At this stage the Directors are confident that reconnection at commercial rates is possible within the £2.5 million budget and advised timescale of completing work between May and August 2020."

So wrong by £12 million and a year and a half. How's that for misinformation?

I don't think there was much doubt about UKOG being able to issue more confetti to raise more money, was there? I mean, Sando got his authority to issue up to 8 billion new shares, right? And when you can guarantee your mates taking part in a placing a swift c. 10% return in just a few days by forward-selling, it's hardly difficult....

As one would hope almost everybody already knows, standard AIM practice is for the SP to spike "mysteriously" upwards, prior to any placing being officially announced by companies. This then allows those who have committed to buy shares in the imminent placing to forward sell those shares into said spike, before said placing is announced. The placing then gets announced and the SP slumps. Easy and guaranteed profits...

Maybe... just maybe... this sounds like it might just apply to very recent events at UKOG?

Because those involved in the placing forward sold would seem to be the most likely answer to me.

Yes, the directors should have made good on their commitment under the DDSPP to purchase shares.

However, even if they do abide by the stated terms of the DDSPP, the maximum value of shares to be purchased by the UKOG board per month is pitifully small... well under £3 grands' worth between them.

Which is such chump change (given their generous combined salaries), that it's surprising that they don't seem to have bothered (so far, at least).

Any directors' share purchases, share sells and share transfers are mandatorily notifiable. An RNS has to be issued, though there is a short allowable time delay (max 5 business days, I think... 4 for the director to tell the company he/she has transacted in shares and 1 day for the company to announce the details of said transaction, regardless of size, to the market).

You are aware of the very common practice of forward selling, right?

Sure, a fair amount of placed shares were sold yesterday at the typical pretty much guaranteed profit, following the again typical pre-placement share price shenanigans of last week.

However, 2.75 billion new shares were issued/placed... and that's going to take a while to move through. I very much doubt that the various bodies taking up the placing are going to view UKOG as a long-term hold. That's just not the way such funders tend to work.

My guess is 0.215 max as Skwizz's latest sell instruction price. Probably nearer 0.20... as he'll freely tell anyone who'll listen, it's all about not being greedy, so if he reckons he can make a swift in and out 10% , that's exactly what he'll do. As often as he can.

And frankly, good luck to him. It's a very smart way (and quite probably the only way) to generate a worthwhile return on companies such as UKOG. At least he doesn't ramp the bejaysus out of UKOG once he's in...

Oofy, the similarities are genuinely startling.

The way I see it (and frankly, I can't think of any other way to see it on either company), both are in last chance saloon and both have gone for one last roll of the dice. Forget all the misdirection about Weald oil and geothermal... both companies have to deliver on their individual last gasp bets.

So I'd say, ignore the white noise and wait to see what volumes (if any) actually come out of Basur-3 and Saltfleetby respectively. That's going to take a fair few months while to become apparent in both cases - and I'm sure we'll get plenty of positive-sounding RNSes from both boards along the way. But in both cases, production volumes are going to have to be independently verified as being sufficient to cover costs and particularly in ANGS's case, debt financing.

Deramping UKOG? Well, if by "deramping", you mean "expressing an opinion last week that the SP was likely to see a very sharp fall", or "expressing an opinion last week that claims of an undeviating stratospheric rise in the SP and imminent multibagging were highly unlikely", then maybe. But then again, surely today's SP comes as no surprise and (of course) is where the market has decided it should be.

As with other smallcap oilers, it's all and only about delivery. Will Basur-3 deliver commercially viable revenues? For UKOG, that's the sole question to be answered. A verifiable answer to that will take time, but still, literally nothing else matters.
