I will be staggered if there is no news released before the meeting next Wednesday - what is the point of having it if the entire BOD are simply going to sit at a table and relay the same messages as at last March's meeting.

If something new is not forthcoming the attendees will lay into Colin & Co - he looked very uncomfortable at last years event, contrary to some views here Colin was given a hard time and Carver was heavily criticized - the atmosphere was tetchy to say the least.

It is interesting there appears to be some diplomacy at Government level next week does this mean developments. I will be attending.

I am wondering how they will raise the $20m that is part of the re-structure package and at what price.

With Ruffer selling down it is hard to say how low the share price will go, the market knows the company must also raise cash via equity so I am somewhat worried about penal dilution. It is a lethal combination.

The matter needs clarification ASAP in my view, will the major shareholders be prepared to stump up the best part of $20m or not? I would assume so, to protect their % stakes, but you can never take anything for granted. It is possible a new investor could enter the frey by taking a large rump of stock - but at what price.

I am not a subscriber that the thought process that a large part of the $20m will come out of gold sales in Q1 - the banks have specifically asked for $20m to be raised via equity as I read it.

As it stands equity investors could be heavily diluted, to raise £15m ($20m) at .50p they would need to issue 3 billion shares.

I am at a loss to why this equity element was included in the restructure, the banks would surely have realised how penal it would be given the share price has been under strain for months on end. So why do they insist on it?

The only way the money can be raised is via the larger holders OR a new investor coming in, if neither happens then what?

I sold a fair chunk of my .45p-.55p shares on the spike to 1.6p thankfully but still retain a chunk of stock bought far higher up.

The award suggests to me a value event is coming and the BOD will benefit by way of options.

Having been around this company for longer than I care to remember I would suggest Louis Coetzee will want to release some positive news ASAP to restore some market confidence - I am therefore going for an RNS this week, we will see.

There were a number of meetings before the presentation evening with both Mast and Benga - both representatives seemed very credible, Gregor Binkert was a World Bank Country Director - it was apparent they were impressed with Kibo based on their associations with the likes of GE, SEPCO etc.

At current levels this looks a bit of a no brainer in my view.

Something significant is going on in the background IMO. Still time for more news ahead of the 27th, Buggenhagen is a class act, would not be stepping into a company that is currently priced to fail that's for sure.

I would suggest there will be a good turnout for the investor event in 10 days time - I am convinced there will be some material news beforehand as does the market based on the ever increasing volume in the shares over the last few days.

Many of these events are organised at short notice, not so with AST, they offered over 3 weeks notice, it seems to be coordinated to tie up with a news release.

I expect a good week ahead.

Leben seems hell bent on destroying all economic activity in Slovenia in the name of everything 'green' It seems he has no interest how many jobs will be created by the numerous projects he is obstructing in the name of the environment.

The above is simply not sustainable, eventually pressure will mount, other politicians whose electorate will have lost the opportunity of jobs, or lose their existing employment will apply pressure, as will the various business groups and so on.

I suspect pressure on Leben in already mounting daily, there appears to be some commentary in the Slovenia media about his actions. He could quickly become a here today gone tomorrow politician.

I am convinced AST has reached bottom, the meeting on the 27th will almost certainly be after some significant news. I think insiders are buying, perhaps shorts closing as well, next week will be a good one IMO.

I picked this information up from Twitter, see below - it seems almost certain what is happening here, when a fund or institutional investor investment breaches a stop loss, or falls below a certain market value, they sell, plain and simple. !t offers the small guy a chance to make decent money. once out they are out, the stock price rises.

I have taken a punt on this today, had to place a limit order BTW, I was expecting a rash of news releases yesterday and overnight from other coal/power parties in Tanzania, not so.

Intra Energy announced nothing overnight, I am wondering, given how incompetent TANESCO have been in the past if there has been, yet another, 'mistake' or whether the rejections announced yesterday concerning Kibo and Edenville were a result of some 'administrative issue'

I recall LC saying he thought there were circa 40 applications/tenders to develop power projects in Tanzania so where are the other announcements? It is clear both companies were shocked by the news so I do wonder whether the 'seeking clarification' comment may deliver something positive in the near future.

Kibo seemed to have had a better working relationship with the Government than may other applicants - perhaps and I strongly say perhaps, all is not lost just yet.

Time will tell.

There are rules and rules on declarations - sometimes a declaration is not made until the seller has continued selling a tranche of stock, I have seen one TR1 saying 8%-7%-6%-5% had been sold, clearly each 1% was not at the time declared. I also believe there is another rule should the seller come from overseas.

The point I am making is that Ruffer may have sold more than we think, by not declaring each 1% does not mean hey have not sold more stock.

When the likes of Ruffer want out they just sell, the price never seems to matter, this therefore represents an opportunity for the small guy. I picked up a large tranche of stock when the 70m sub .40p seller dumped, happily sold those above 1.5p.

I will be adding if this drops further, the company is de-risked somewhat from the .45p attained a few months ago, I re-iterate I feel .80p-1p is the new .45p

I think they market makers are dropping this purely as a result of Ruffer who seem to be wanting out - it represents an opportunity - my guess is the current circa 1p is the new .45p of a few months ago. We know brave (at the time) buyers tripled their money in quick tome buying in then, my guess it will be the same now.

A move from 1p to 1.5p-1.6p is entirely possible in quick time, no doubt speculators/traders will soon return. A potential 50% gain is not to be sniffed at.

I believe there will be an update before the event on 27th, I cannot imagine the company would hold such an event without something serious to bring to the meeting.

I have noticed a trend, many companies now issue news ahead of presentations so everything can be discussed at the event. A number of presenting companies at the recent Turner Pope event released news, some was significant, either on the day or a day or two beforehand.

Are these larger trades a clue?

Looks like the event could be well attended, spoke to someone from Yellow Jersey last night - said there had been a good response to date - just over 20 so far had registered.

Still hopeful there will be some news beforehand.

This is a very modest initial new project without much risk, the noise needs to come from Manica and I an sure we will get another update shortly.

This is playing out as I expected, news-flow ahead of the UK Investor Show in late March, last year around the same time of that event the share price was 2.45p - Bird will know that, he is thick skinned yes but he will need to be if this is not trading far higher by that event.

Patience, news about Manica will come in my view.

I have registered to attend the event but to date have had no reply - I recall last time they acknowledged around 1 week beforehand.

The last event was attended by about 30 people and discussion was frank and honest with no holds barred - It was worth making the effort. I am hoping (and expect) some material news beforehand - we will see.

There has been steady buying since Friday, I do wonder whether more news is imminent, with Colin Bird you can be assured you will get news when least expected, usually comes after mid-day also.

I see value here, Bird will want to appease shareholders ahead of the UK Investor Show in late March.

Could see another run in the SP, the RSI is come back from overbought to neutral, not a bad time to add or buy in in my view.

That is one of the gloomiest posts I have read on this BB for a very long time and I have to disagree with most of it.

I am of the view that I feel the permits may not be issued under Leben but this is pure speculation, the pressure on him may be insurmountable if pubic opinion or 'politics' go against his desire for everything 'green' Take note how in every Ascent RNS they are now talking 'green' about natural gas as opposed to coal etc.Then there is the pressure of legal action.

I have no idea what may come before the 27th meeting, these meetings can be arranged within days so why wait until the end of this month. There must be something positive coming from the company as others have pointed out, if not, then Hutchinson & Co will be castigated.

I think the clue will be in trading volumes up-to the 27th, at current levels, as far as an AIM investment goes I consider it a decent punt.

Time will tell.

I have been lobbying for an event like this to take place for some time, the last one was very open and well attended with no holds barred discussion.

In fairness CH has to be commended for agreeing to such a meeting, he could have easily stayed below radar - my guess is there is going to be some material news event beforehand.

I hope people will attend the meeting, there were about 25 people present the last time if I recall correctly.

This seems a very dignified thread and have been lurking here for sometime.

Readers may like to take a look at a 40,000oz pa gold producer which currently yields 14%, they have paid out 6.4p in dividends to shareholders in 12 months - the current share price is only 45p

The Co has recently recorded record production with increasing grades and re-iterated their generous dividend policy moving forward.

Worth noting is that 86% of the 100m shares are held by major investors so the free float is tiny, the Co is very much under radar but volumes are rising slowly.

I think the share price will re-rate to 70p+
