Not a bad day had a very good bet on HENLLAN HARRI after the whisper from connections at FFOS LAS. On Thursday at Fontwell Sam Twiston-Davies is piloting SURENESS in the 2.45. SURENESS won 3 races on the trot this time last year and is top weight because the handicapper thinks he's the best horse. At 14/1 I think he's great value and an EW bet. At Salisbury I would love My old winning jockey who won on SAFFIZZ and 5th at Royal Ascot in 1999 for me to get a comeback winner after a serious injury and sadly loosing his lovely wife last year. Let's hope he can win on STAR RIDER ( which Jimmy is ) in the 5.25 at Salisbury. At Fontwell 1.15 ROYAL BATTALION who has some good flat form could do well in his first hurdle handicap. The Twiston-Davies are at FFOS LAS tomorrow and Willie has 2 rides in the last two races on horses who have won under both codes of racing. He rides for Dad in the 8.00 on GOLDEN JUBILEE who was bought for Willie to ride on the flat. Willie started his racing career as a jumps jockey and suffered some bad injuries and was found to have soft bones so he changed to the flat. In the 8.30 at FFOS LAS willie won't be riding RED RIVERMAN for his dad but will be riding GIOIA DI VITA for another Grand National winning trainer Dr Richard Newland. The horse is an improved Hurdler and was a good second at Windsor ten days ago. I have watched Willie grow up on his dad's gallops and rate very highly to go to the TOP as a flat jockey. Tavener who was beat a short distance runs tomorrow without a penalty at Ayr 3.30 we were on him last week and should win. Some of the best racing is at Ayr tomorrow and Fergal Lynch has got some good rides for Jim Goldie. My old friend Linda Perratt usually has some big priced winners at this meeting she trains at Ayr racecourse so no travelling for her horses.
