It's great to see ABLVARADO'S jockey Paul Moloney return to the saddle after a couple of months off injured. His first race back is on CAPE CASTER EW at Ludlow where both trainer Even Williams and Paul have a good strike rate. Paul is retained by ALVARADO's owners to ride him. Another Grand National favourite of mine who I had at 40/1 for last years race is in the 3.30 at Doncaster SAINT ARE EW with paddy Brennan on board he's had two warm up races this season and I'm told he's working very well and should be thereabouts. In the 2.30 Doncaster OUR THOMAS should take this. Finally 3.40 Ludlow PEMBROKE HOUSE EW it's a good booking for the champion elect!! GLA

ALVARADO will not run tomorrow so maybe Warwick Friday he's been working well! An Appleby EW Double for today Wolves 2.55 MR RED CLUBS 3.30 ASTRA HALL. Training says both well in.

ALVARADO fans for the Grand National will be interested that he will most probably run on Wednesday at Doncaster as the ground is good he's also entered at Warwick on Friday and Southwell on Sunday but the plan at the moment is Doncaster Wednesday. At Taunton 3.05 STORMING STRUMPET has schooled very well for first run over larger obstacles and could be good value. 3.40 ANTARTICA DE THAIX can beat the odds on favourite. Finally 4.10 TOURNADO IN MILAN won a grade2 four weeks ago and at 9/2 looks excellent value and the yard think highly of him. GLA

A winning day for me I got 6/1 and 11/2 last night! Carlisle 3.05 WARRANTOR unseated his rider at Caterick last week when well backed. Wolverhampton 5.55 NATIONAL SERVICE with Timmy in the saddle for Gordon Elliott can go close. My EW bet is Wolverhampton 4.20 HOOFALONG EW. Finally at Carlisle 2.00 a young conditional Toby Wheeler who was on Contillion for us today rides HOWABOUYNEVER in the 2.00 for Ian Williams his boss. GLA

At Naas 2.55 UN NOBLE EW of Nicky Richards make a rare raid for Nicky Craig Nichol in the saddle and in the 3.30 BALL D'ARC EW should run a big race.

It was terrible to see the fall of Paddys mount MARDEN COURT at Fakenham today which sadly was a fatal fall. At Ascot Saturday 3.00 SIRABAD EW 3.35 SILVINIACO CONTI should still have the class to take this. At Wincanton 2.15 FOURTH ACT is probably the best of paddys several rides. The 5.05 wincanton BLACK CORTON makes his UK debut with some useful French form. A few for the all weather at Lingfield 1.25 MALIH. 2.35 COME ON DAVE. 4.20. AUTUMN TONIC. My best bet of the day SILSOL at Haydock 2.05. GLA.

Another poor day but still up on the week. Not much value around Thursday with some small fields. At Leicester 5.00 WAYWARD FROLIC EW. In the 2.10 Leicester GAELIC WARRIOR should take this but at the price no value but I like the chance of a forecast with SERANWEN who is working very good and schooled well so Paddy and Sam first and second! Another forecast I am going for with a bit of value 2.30 Kelso TOP NOTCH and CHIC NAME Alain Cawley will lead the race and hopefully come second. Finally 3.40 Kelso PILGRIMS BAY for Pipe/ Scudamore partnership. In the 3.55 Leicester I hope Ali Sterling has a great ride on SILVER ROQUE Ali is a hard working assistant to Fergal O'Brien a brilliant horse woman and would love her to do well on old ROQUE. GLA

Let's get back on the winning trail on Wednesday. Only two each way bets for Wednesday both at Ayr 3.25 DEFINITELY BETTER who's last race was 3/13 at this course and Tom Georges horses are running well and Paddy who has a 26% winners to runners over the last two weeks and we have been on most of them. In the 4.00 Musselburgh Paddy teams up with Irish trained FIRST POST EW for Adrian McGuinness and at 8/1 tonight has to be good EW value. In the Hunter Chase at Musselburgh I would love to see FREDO win for my old friends Ian Williams and Jacky Allen. FREDO is a lovely horse and I've fed him Polo mints lots in the past and had a few successful gambles on him but I don't bet on Hunter Chases but will watch with interest. GLA

Well Tuesday's racing is TERRIBLE! A few Irish raiders at Ayr and at Southwell all the all weather horses have been running against each other all season. We will see what we can select no inside info like BILLY NO MATES last night! At Ayr a whisper for MOLLY MILAN in the 2.20 from the Goldie Yard and in the 2.55 MY LITTLE CRACKER owned by the Rooney's could be a grade above the rest. At Southwell 2.35 CARBUTT'S RIDGE should go close for the Burke/ Costello partnership. Racing looks better for Wednesday with Paddy Brennan going to Musselburgh plus Towcester and Punchestown. GLA
