The best occasion that can happen for me this week is that JENNIES SURPRISE can win the GRAND MILITARY GOLD CUP on Friday with Brodie Hampson ridding for her dad Mark Hampson who is in a Hospice at Wroughton near Swindon. The Yes No Wait Sorries syndicate is giving it to Mark to run in his name,this qualifies the horse to run in Marks name as he was a former Sergeant in the Royal Artillery for 22 year. Emblaze I agree with what you say and talking to lots of owners and trainers today they have had to run there horses over the last 3or 4 wet months as the jump season is nearly over the season finishes in April. When and if the going does improve we will see maximum runners for all the good races. Lots of horses who want fast ground cannot run during the summer because it's mostly lower grade racing. Sunday racing is very poor tomorrow but we have a couple to select at Huntingdon 3.30 BALLYRATH told today he's working very well. 4.30 SONG SAA he has been well schooled for this 1st run over hurdles. Final selection is at Sedgefield the Pipes send BELLA 3.50 with Tom Scudamore going for just one ride the stable must think this improving 5yo doesn't need a conditional to claim and have confidence in him carrying top weight. ALVARADO hated the ground but came out of the race ok and it was 11/2 miles shorter than the Grand National and he will come on for that race. ALVARADO makes his belated for this season at Newbury 2.15 the ground will be to his liking if it stays good to soft or better he has had a lot of work and what ever happens tomorrow he will come on a ton and put him spot on for the Grand National and at 16/1 worth a small EW bet. Today was an ok day that could have been a very good day SANDY BEACH had the favourite beaten and was cruising when a mistake threw Paddy off when the race was at his mercy and in Maydan a terrible ride by Ryan Moore on EURO CHARLENE. DONCASTER 2.10 MR SNOOZY EW at 16/1 has won 3 races on the flat at Donny and if the going stays good I expect a big run. Don. 2.40 OSCAR O'SCAR is good value at 9/4 after his last win. Also at Donaster 4.20 TEWEYLA is highly thought of by Pam Sly and I'm told she has improved again since Kempton. My old friend Richard Fahey in the 4.55 Don. QUILL ART has improved again since course and distance win 4 weeks ago has schooled very well. At Newbury MYSTIFIABLE and MUCKLE ROE have been working very well I have also had a word for BALLYDEEN so this race is best left alone. In the 5.35 Newbury POISONED BERRY has come on a lot since his 2nd at Weathrby but that was just over 11/2 miles this is 2miles but she is a lovely looking Filey who by the way is for sale! I have had a good bet at Maydan 4.45 EURO CHARLENE not a great price got 6/4 Betfair this evening but I'm told this will be bet big money tomorrow. GLA

Paddy is at Wincanton 2.45 QUITE BY CHANCE should go close for Colin Tizzard. Another Tizzard horse in the 3.55 MURRYANA with champ elect Richard Johnson piloting. BIG FELLA THANKS should beat Victoria Pendleton on PACHA Du POLDER I think Tom Georges young son has to much experience for Victoria he's been riding out for a few years for his dad. GLA
