So Natwest aim to distribute a MINIMUM of £1 billion per annum from 2021 to 2023 via a combination of ordinary and special dividends. So at todays share price that is 8.8p dividend per share for next 2 years, which at current SP is a yield of 4.3%; and that is minimum remember. On top of that a share buyback programme of up to £750 million in the second half of the year. Way to go!

My question is, what happened at 11:10 to make the sp drop like a stone in the first place? I don't buy that income investors suddenly decided at that point to sell up because of the lower than expected dividend, if that had been the case they would have sold of on market opening. Blatant manipulation of sp by the city wide boys.

Private investors will make no difference. Institutional Investors have the say with the sheer number of voting rights they have.

City Wide Boys now doing there stuff manipulating the shcit out of the SP.

Although the amount of declared dividend has not gone down well with many investors, Lloyds results were weighed down by £425 million of remediation charges(HBOS fiasco and misleading insurance clients). If there were no remediation charges dividend could potentially have been double the 0.67p declared. In my view looking good going ahead, more so if they can clean up their operations so not to incur the wrath of the authorities and be penalised with hefty fines.

Barclays dividend will give yield 3.5% and the majority of their investors on the Barclays BB yesterday were made up with that. Lloyds dividend is going to give a yield of 4.3%, so better than Barclays, yet most of the investors here are not pleased? Well sell up and move on then! I am more than happy with this. I consider that total dividend for year of 2.01p is the base from which it should grow every year. I will be holding long term.

Interim dividend 0.67p. So assuming final dividend 1.34p total dividend for year will be 2.01p. No mention of any buybacks? Have I missed anything?

Barclays results exceeded expectations so looking good for Lloyds tomorrow. Lets see how the market reacts at 08:00 to Barclays results.

Barclays announce 500 million buyback and 2p dividend. Total equivalent per share 4.9p.

I think everyone will be focusing on the results tomorrow irrespective of Wall Street today; anyway, DOW only down 0.43% just now and Nasdaq down 1.43%. Good news on dividends and how surplus cash is returned to share holders should change the sentiment back to positive. Anyway GLA to all holders here for tomorrow, and hopefully good results for Barclays tomorrow will set the tone for Lloyds on Thursday and Natwest on Friday.

Oh well, all eyes on Barclays Half Year Report release at 07:00 tomorrow morning to see how they have performed.

The tick down only comes on ex dividend day. IMO if a divi is announced at half year report there will be a tick up in SP until ex dividend day.
