Just curious. Can we make an analogy between the elliot wave theory and the actual SP movement over 1, 2, 3, 4 year time frames or longer? Has the SP during any of these time frames generally moved in alignment with the elliot wave theory?

I'd rather have the money in my pocket than Lloyds BOD sitting on it!

Possible this could have some short term influence on markets over the coming days?

I certainly was not attacking falky, and I DO have a large holding here. I would love to see falky's prediction come right, but I have learned through many let downs in the past not to get carried away when the SP takes a hike only to fall again same day or next day when the city wide boys start their manipulations. Anyway, as you say, let's rejoice and savour the moment while it lasts.

I sincerely hope you are right, but I cannot see any driving force after ex dividend to get the SP moving to 50p let alone above it. We need more news on return of cash to share holders. Maybe when the new CEO takes the reigns he could stoke the fire with a communication regarding buy back or special dividend but if no news on return of cash until final results then SP will trade around these levels getting hammered by the day traders/city wide boys/market makers until final results are out.

There does not appear any demand before ex divi for the 0.67p dividend so looking like SP stay around this level today and tomorrow and then sub 46p at 08:00 Thursday morning.

FTSE futures slightly up at the moment, surprised at that after the retrace on Wall Street last night? Be interesting to see what happens at 08:00 when markets open.

What is your source of information that the new CEO will announce on his first day in office 16th August a multi million pound buy back programme?

The government is considering scrapping caps on Bankers Bonus's to give a boost to the financial sector! That will squirrel away some more of the excess cash piles that banks are sitting on which should be heading share holders way!

Lloyds are going to do OK. Natwest have given some more specifics with there update, quoting MINIMUM amount each year for ordinary and special dividend, where as Lloyds aside from the 0.67p interim was vague. Lloyds is going to be a traders share until we get more information at end of year results.
