There will be more than enough time for sng001 to reach hundreds of thousands of people and enough money generated to complete p3 trials in what is their core business - COPD. Isn't there a video of RM talking about the potential value of synairgen based on COPD alone, it was many billion IIRC?

Really? Only on paper right now... One of the main advantages of a high share price is the ability of a company to raise the funds that they need. This has worked out very well for synairgen managing to generate £87m from investors to proceed with the next big steps. And in this case it's the IIs that have largely lost out, for once!

I truly believe Richard and the board will be very relaxed about the current situation and will be laser focused on this upcoming p3 trial.

I'm not one of the people bashing the pfizer vaccine, I'm pro vaccine and don't believe any of the conspiracy theorists. But there is absolutely no denying that fear/reluctance/scepticism is a genuine concern and a large percentage of the population are likely to (at least at first) refuse a vaccine. Building up enough herd immunity to bring the pandemic under control is going to be no mean feat and may take a lot longer than current estimates are predicting:

Well I'll take £3 or £4 on successful P3 thank you very much Doc - you might have have been looking for more but a 400% rise from here would set me right up.

No further positive vaccine news will shake the share price like the last. We went from wondering if they'd ever be an effective vaccine to very much assured there is going to be one. Further goods news out of Oxford will just shore up the ftse whilst negative findings might actually cause a bit of a stir...

As for sng slowly investors will wake up to the irrelevance of the news to synairgen. This virus is here to stay, it's endemic globally. The pandemic will be brought under control with a vaccine but people will continue to slip through the net and get ill for decades to come. And then there's all the other uses.

At 99p this is a bargain.

I think another positive holding rns showing other IIs or Licht topping up at these low prices could be the accelerant to get this moving sharply north...

@frutsels, we're all entitled to our own opinions but when it comes to investing some opinions are worth more than others - no sign of any IIs agreeing with you thus far and polar capital upped their holding by 2 millions shares...

I am sharing from experience that this is one of the few shares that when it catches a headwind really accelerates through the gears. We've saw a move not long ago from £4 to £12.50 that was pretty much seamless. >200% rise with barely any pullbacks.

My advice, if you can avoid it don't top slice every 10% rise because you'll most likely lose money...

No it's not unsustainable, it is recovering the unjustified loss of the past few days.

Expect another move like this again this week to a more respectable base of around £8.50 - £9 going into next week.

We are massively undervalued due to panic selling and shorting side-by-side the past few days. The panic subsides, the shorts close - hey presto.

The short term broker target is between £13.65 and £14.50 (IIRC), Numis and SP Angel, and that's based on current contracts and revenue generation...

If we execute phase 2 on the DHSC contract that alone will send us north of £14. We don't need anymore updates, we're doing just fine!

Moving through the gears in France - up over 10%. This could get tasty!

Great post TLW. One thing though I think you're forgetting is that some people who sold will be LTHs who have seen these sorts of market overreactions before and decided to 'join the herd' in the hope of buying back in cheaper. These sorts of moves often take a few days to settle down and that does seem to be the case here.

I attempted something like that but in the end wasn't overly successful, selling £10k of my holding at 140p only to buy it back at 120p in a panic, then selling other stocks to buy another £10k at 105p and then another £10k at 89p.

I'm very confident we'll be back at the placing price before too long. GLA.

The article from novacyt insider yesterday about the two largest biotechs on AIM was very revealing.

For ncyt to reach their mcap (£3.5b) realistically they need to be capable of pulling in profits around £30-40m a year into the future. This time next year they will be debt free and have about £400m in cash in which to start that diversification strategy. Pretty decent chance of growing well beyond a £3.5b mcap company don't cha think?
