But it's a good question, I'd be happy with a 15% rise with the momentum to kick on next week. Would love to be way off the mark though!

Jab I know that seems mad but if you are a buy and hold investor you'd still be bloody happy to have held boohoo over the past 12 months and seen a 0% return rather than most of the Ftse250 that's for sure!

Schrow I said that but not only is it priced in, there's now an expectation of sorts that a vaccine will be highly effective. Okay perhaps not 90% but right up there. If it proves to be considerably less effective than that after the full readouts from the trial/other trials are released we actually see the broader market wobble a little...

So in other words The Daily Mail are aware of the peer review before shareholders? I'm not complaining if that is the case!

Those two papers published today should give everyone invested here a lot of confidence. This is a reminder that getting a drug to market is a long and arduous process, especially for a company as small as synairgen. Whilst many of us (I've been guilty) feel Richard and the team aren't demonstrating enough urgency and are taking too long, Richard himself spoke of the amazing achievement of pulling off a P2 and P3 trial in the space of 12 months (recent interview). It's taken some time but people are talking about sng001 and it's coming right from the top... just as we start our P3.

Things are hotting up and are about to get exciting...

Just remember it's when everyone is at their most pessimistic that the real bargains arise. Focus on the investment case, we could well be looking back at this in two months time amazed at the fact we sat at a pound for a week...

There's the makings of a sitcom right there!

Until the next bit of news I think we needn't worry about the share price - the correction can/will happen in the blink of an eye and it gives those with spare cash under the mattress a chance to hold more shares than they could have ever imagined...

Bluelight, I think the market is starting to act rationally. The vaccine news does mean testing as a whole will fall but ncyt should continue making large profits due to being so embedded in the NHS already and potentially further embedded in care home the length and breadth of the UK.

This makes the other testing stocks without revenue generation so far much riskier and much more speculative. I'm sitting back and watching GDR and ODX and I might have a small punt if they fall further...

Exactly Ghia and let's also thank our lucky stars that PIs were not offered a greater percentage of the placing shares - a) it means we weren't too burnt at 1 for every 37 we already held and b) it acts a strong benchmark for the share to return to.

A similar thing happened with NEX - following an oversubscribed placing at 230p in the summer market sentiment sent the share price crashing down to the 120-140p range. Then two days after the vaccine news it has jumped right back to the placing price of 230p and has settled down there...

I've never been invested in a company like this previously but it must be so so rare for a business to be making this much money and still have more or less the same costs as you did when you were just a minnow? Graham and the board will have hundreds of millions to expand the company from the ground up without any of the deadwood and stifling operational costs that midcaps and large caps have.

Personally I don't think Graham cares particularly about the price he gets. He waited for the share price to bottom out and partially recover and then gave it a kickstart to push on back to fair value. That would be my take anyway...

Just to make it clear that isn't a criticism, it's to counter the idea that the purchase is holding the sp up today when in reality it's the fact that this was well oversold on Monday...

I'm not convinced Graham's purchase has made that much difference, sentiment turned yesterday and we were always likely to see a solid blue day today...

I said a few weeks ago that the US is likely to show us what would happen if we didn't lockdown or broadly ignored social distancing measures. Things are starting to look very hairy over there with over a million confirmed cases in the last ten days and deaths reaching 2000 a day now...

Of course looking at twitter doesn't tell you too much but been seeing lots of comments along the lines of 'great trade, in at £6 out at £9 thank you very much'. If this snapshot is indicative of trading patterns then that's good news as we've managed to stabilise at £8.50 whilst flushing out the two bob traders. Move up this afternoon imo back towards £10 by next week. GLA!

I'm not an overly cynical person but we must learn from the past. In April we had Professor Sarah Gilbert who's heading up the Oxford/AZ vaccine trial saying she was confident that they could have approval for a vaccine by September 2020. This seemed to almost everyone else ambitious beyond belief but she stuck with that timeframe for some time.

We've had all sorts of ridiculous comments from Boris Johnson over the past six months, most notably talking about the world beating coronavirus app which by any definition is not world beating in the slightest.

It does look like we will have an effective vaccine which is great news but if we're told it will be rolled out in early January and that half the population will be immunised by Easter you can tack on an extra half a year to that as a typical margin of error at a minimum.

SNG001 if approved in March will almost certainly be in high demand for a year and still continue to be in demand from Q1 2022 onwards...

9inch is proving time and time again that he simply doesn't understand how to value a company, this is probably true of many others that have sidestepped this investment. He is so focused on this idea of the share price being inflated and banding around this '1000% increase figure. This is not the dotcom bubble, this is a company that is making hundreds of millions of pounds and will be for quite a bit longer, which will then have hundreds of millions of pounds to spend on building the company into a multibillion pound company.

I know you aren't able to understand this but the rest of us can and are making shed loads of money because of it.

It looks like all the old guard are here except RichTheNewbie, who continues to subtly deramp as he did the other day by advocating investing in FTSE blue chips instead and acting as a sort of pfizer vaccine spokersperson.
