A bit of advice 9inch - offer a positive comment on occasion. Maybe something like well done to all the holders that kept their nerve and especially those who were lucky enough to be able to top up at £6. It would give you more credibility and add a bit of oomph to your deramping in the future...

9inch you are such a tedious bore. Are you seriously asking where he got half a million from? I'll give you some possible options...

(i) He might take great care of his money and have had it in savings, he is a CEO on a good salary after all, or
(ii) His sweet little Aunt Mo may have just died leaving her townhouse in London to him

It was so so so obvious that as soon as the share price moves north confidence would return. Hard to say where this goes from here but I do expect to return to the placing price at a bare minimum over the next month...

Wilson absolutely, and you and many others are far more valuable posters than I am! It's just I went into overdrive this week as I felt stronger than ever that this was n amazing opportunity around the £6-8 mark and so many just couldn't see it!

Hold tight, almost certain this breaks out again today, sentiment well and truly with us. Close at £9 is very possible...

I spent all of Tuesday night and Wednesday morning trying to convince everyone on here how quickly sentiment would shift back to novacyt. So damn happy with how quickly it has - ftse futures well down today...

It will just confirm what the market is expecting now. What is certain is that it won't cause a 40% drop in sp but perhaps temporarily cause a 5-10% drop as investors start following each other out the door expecting worse to come...

The thing is we all have different investing strategies. Mine is not to look at history and assume things to play out in the same way, if that was the case investing would be super easy. I see an opportunity here because I think over the past few years the share price has failed to reflect true value and I believe at some point in the near future it will. I see an opportunity here because I see a change in the retail landscape, I see a sharp and sustained shift in buying habits from in person physical stores to online. Whilst big clothing companies will be spending ever more on their online presence they will be still be many years behind boohoo. It's that first mover advantage that should see boohoo take a big share of the enormous online market and being cash rich will give them a chance to expand even further and create even more of an online monopoly. If they continue to see growth in the states like they have recently then this company will almost certainly be worth tens of billions in the not too distant future.

You're focusing on the few knocking the vaccine to make your point when in reality most of us on here are very pleased about the vaccine news and are not attempting to cast doubt on its benefit to society. We also believe that synairgen can still thrive alongside a successful vaccine...

Chris that's absolutely true about a successful vaccine not being priced in and is clearly closer to what Joey said - no one was expecting quite the efficacy it showed. A 90% effective vaccine is capable of bringing the pandemic to an end. I imagine the virus will never leave us but we will be able to return to life as normal at some point in the not too distant future now hopefully...

The job for investors is to decide which shares have been oversold and which have been overbought. Yesterday for example I took a significant stake in ncyt as the market clearly overreacted there and also bought more in synairgen on the way down. My reasoning for sng being oversold is that its future is not as reliant on covid as many PIs probably think. The sp was dragged down to 175p only because of the placing and before that had settled at around the 200p mark, so we're a good 50% down from that level now. Covid was crucial to getting to where we are today and of course adds significantly value to the company but fundamentally however you look at it the company will be worth a hell of a lot more in the future than £200m following successful P3 results.

Some will see the risk/reward as less favourable now but personally I see it as more favourable (at £1).

The BBC isn't perfect but it's about as neutral and objective as you can get. The left complain it's too right leaning, the right complain it's lefty propaganda.

The french share price bobbed a few percent higher than the LSE price all day so I would call it a 15% rise today. Was another exhilarating day as a novacyt shareholder!

I think you're looking at it too simply, personally. All the recent allegations and bad press have had a material impact on the business and the share price. The projected p/e has fallen significantly this year, I mean we're looking at 40-50% profit increase this year and the sp yoy is 10% down!

Just because last time out the sp rallied into results and then fell back despite strong results does not guarantee that good sales figures in Jan would have an identical effect. If between now and then if there is no bad press it's very possible that it catches a headwind and pushes on well past £4 into £5.

To clarify the strong US sales growth is the reason I'm heavily invested here. 'Breaking' the states transforms any business - did you know the GDP of California is more than the UK?!

Buffalo, what you don't seem to understand is that boohoo plc is not the same as boohoo®. The boohoo brand does appear to be cheap tat but the business model is based around buying established brands on the cheap and integrating them into their portfolio. To add to boohoo's core business of PLT, Boohoo, BoohooMan, Nasty Gal, Miss Pap you've got Oasis, Coast & Karen Millen. Expect some big names like New Look, Gap etc to be snapped up at some point in the future.

In addition they are expanding rapidly in the States most notably - I do think first mover advantage might make a significant difference and for me is the main reason I'm now heavily invested here.

Sure but it's also quite selfish to avoid a vaccine. Not a go at you per se but the issue with 'choosing' to avoid a vaccine is that many of the most vulnerable (may not be the case this time) are unable to be vaccinated and so you catching it may mean spreading it to someone whose life would be in danger...

It's a difficult dilemma for those a little unsure of the right thing to do, but just something to remember that's all.
