It's interesting, he was the one that bought 10000 shares in November as a consultant. He must have seen what was going on and was keen to be involved in the company's transformation. Perhaps it was that reason (planned elevation from consultant to CFO) that forced the disclosure.

Perhaps they are really thick and think vaccine = sell, lockdown = buy? There are some humans as simple as that.

It won't be as bad, there's light at the end of the tunnel now. Still, lockdown in combination with the run up to results could see some positive price action here - i'm optimistic.

If after continually telling investors to join up the dots and buying half a million quids worth of shares himself, the results are poor, well I'd think it would be fair to call him criminally misleading!

That's not the case. The only possibility in my eyes would be that he bought shares in November fully expecting some big, game-changing contracts to land between then and results. It's a possibility but more than likely we have nothing to worry about. I am not worried about 'poor' results, the big question for me is are they good or are they great?

Porky, that is a very valid point. They have left it so Vague, just that sales will be above the first half of the year. Therefore I don’t think they need to tell the market if the sales are huge, as it’s in line with their statement (greater than the first half). They would only have to inform the market if the sales we below the first half of the year.

The problem is there is no way in god's name that H2 could be below H1, after all H1 was basically just Q2 as novacyt only really started making big money from April onwards. 2020 revenue could be anything from £180m to a billion.

That big one early doors is likely a sell, who knows about the others? I don't read into big large trades anymore though unless there is a sustained number going through i.e someone building a position. There are many PIs with very big wallets that know no more than the rest of us but see themselves as a bit of a Jordon Belfort

What time were these? Buys or sells?

If they were late in the day it could be big money moving back in with lockdown looming?

BioNTech and Pfizer have warned that they have no evidence their vaccine will continue to work if the booster shot is given later than tested in trials. They said:

Clinical trial update using Novacyt's NPT system in care homes

Further to the announcement on 22 July 2020, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) has completed an interim review of the performance of the Company's innovative near-patient testing (NPT) system in an ongoing study testing for COVID-19 in care homes.



The interim review analysed over 4,000 samples from care home residents and staff, with 98% of the samples using Novacyt's NPT system processed and reported in the same day. The clinical accuracy of Novacyt's NPT system was found to have >99% clinical sensitivity and specificity when compared to a standard central laboratory system. These data demonstrate the reliability and accuracy of Novacyt's NPT system. In addition, mid-nose nasal swabs were found to be effective and well tolerated compared to the more invasive nasopharyngeal swabs.



Further to the announcement of Novacyt's second contract with the UK DHSC on 29 September 2020 for the supply of q16 and q32 instruments and test kits to NHS hospitals, the clinical trial is being expanded into additional settings across the UK where the Company's NPT systems are being deployed.

There is no good option but leaving the nhs to crumble to its knees is the worst of all.

Earth, you're simply wrong. The NHS is stretched beyond belief and that's with pretty tight restrictions. Sticking with your strategy would see thousands of more deaths for the sake of opening businesses between January and March.

America is an example of what happens when you don't take it seriously enough (and this is still with restrictions). The US has a relatively low population density (a 10th of the UK's) but is seeing thousands of deaths a day, climbing towards 4000 every single day. Totally out of control and likely to hit the half million mark in a month or so's time.

Testing is going to be here for years and years and we are a global leader in PCR testing. Most of the world will be well behind the UK's vaccine rollout, uptake of the vaccine will vary from country to country with some like France showing extemely high aversion to it. On top of that the latest variant might be more resistant to the current crop of vaccines and new variants almost certainly will.

Novacyt can become a midcap from covid sales alone, not to mention the new non covid developments they have planned. All AIM investments are a risk but those raking in the money are far less of a risk!

Some people will be testing positive today that were infected during the christmas period, people will start testing positive that caught it off family members that caught it during the christmas period.

It takes a good number of weeks to break transmission, especially if the new variant that is becoming dominant is 50% more infectious.

I just inadvertently used spovacyt as a portmanteau for novacyt's share price!

Sentiment doesn't refer to how vocal PIs are on a bb or twitter. With the virus out of control, more transmissible variants and one that possibly is better at evading the current crop of vaccines, sentiment should be with testing. The spovacyt is stuck in a range between 800-900 and it looks like it's going to take actual news to move it out of this range now.

The building of layers of immunity makes sense, thanks Scinv. My comment was more to do with the way Boris Johnson in particular tries to make the situation seem black and white when it's obvious to anyone with half a brain that it isn't. 'Let's get that jab in the arm and get back to doing what we do best!' kinda thing.

Scinv, perhaps that's true that it was inevitable that we would see mutations that are more resistant but this does not seem to be something the scientists were expecting yet, just as we begin the vaccine rollout. Far from it if you go by Sir John Bell's comment on Nov 9th (below)...

There's been many attempts on here to undermine vaccines in order to win some perceived treatment vs vaccine war. This was always an imaginary fight unless vaccines were to wipe the virus from the face of the earth - highly unlikely.

The comments from Sir John Bell today changes the framing of our investment in synairgen and reminds the market that yes vaccines are the tool that will bring life back to normality but there is a long and arduous road ahead, one in which treatments are very much needed. If there is confirmation anytime soon that the new variant can evade the current crop of vaccines then expect even more money to be piled in here...
