Exactly. Holgate is clearly not a pump and dumper! If we are given emergency approval he is not going to quickly sell his shares in order to crystallise his windfall, it will only happen upon full approval with the adequate p3 data. In that case Horby should be delighted.

I think the chance of receiving emergency approval is increasing by the day. Richard more than hinted at it in the last proactive interview and made the point that the regulatory agencies have done it for other drugs upon assurances of further research ongoing. We have so much data to come in the next three months so are not exactly sitting on our laurels...

The problem is Doc they can't continue to do this with every variant that makes its way into the country unless they lockdown forever. First line of attack will be adjusting vaccines as fast as possible but a broad spectrum antiviral is badly needed now. I'm not going to claim it should be sng001 as I'm obviously biased but if a chance is ever going to be taken then it seems like a relatively risk free one to me.

If they find this new variant is already spreading around the UK too fast to bring under control then that adds weight to our case of emergency approval or an interim analysis of our p3...

It's frustrating me that the recovery trial is recruiting a large number of the hospitalised patients for monoclonal antibody therapy that will need to be tested all over again in a few months as more variants are discovered...

Please not this again Bruce, it's quite easy to understand. Right now people are being given two full doses of the Oxford vaccine, found to have about 60% efficacy. If upon larger trials of the other dosing regime (small dose followed by full dose) they gather enough evidence to go ahead with that, then we can start describing it as being 90% protective.

Org it's good you're willing to change your tune on the effect of falling hospitalisations/cases on this investment - I agree it's pretty irrelevant to sng now apart from filling trials!

Vaccine enthusiasm is bolstered by the fact that pfizer and moderna were the first to report their results and in all fairness their 95%+ efficacy far exceeds anything anyone expected. If Ox/Azn reported first we'd probably have a different picture in our collective minds...

RECOVERY recruited 10000 patients in January, about 330 a day. The cases are coming down now and hospitalisations are expected to drop significantly by the end of Feb so it will get a little more difficult to fill the trial. We've probably got it away just in time, in the UK at least, but any later and it might have been a struggle.

We're coming up to three weeks since first patient dosed so I hope that at least 25% of the UK arm is filled - I wonder though if the recovery trial is signing up the bulk of patients?
