It does surprise me though that while Horby/Landray talk of discovering cheap off the shelf meds they also have included Regeneron's monoclonal antibody ****tail REGN-COV2 on Recovery. That's anything but cheap and off-the-shelf.

Thanks for the replies, it just got me thinking when I saw Landray/Horby on twitter preaching about the benefit of simple, no-fuss clinical trials. I suppose in a way the goal of the recovery trial is quite different to the goal of SNG.

I've seen a few on here previously complain about the way we've gone about our phase 3 arguing that setting up a simpler trial with less patients across less countries would in the end do the same job. Is that true or are we likely to be rewarded for the approach we are taking now? Besides being better placed for approval from different regulatory bodies from the international aspect, what other benefits are there of going it alone on our terms compared to say, having been on the Recovery trial?

CW, I have a feeling that the price will be higher in March/April than it will be pre p3 readout (unless of course we get an unexpected EUA) for the reasons you just outlined. It's the main reason I'm 100% all in myself right now.

The more likely outcome is the country falls short of herd immunity through vaccination alone due to the reasons you've just outlined but still able to bring the virus to a manageable level with effective therapeutics plugging the gap.

That's positive to hear Doc, admittedly I assumed (and still do to a degree) that a large faction of the country simply won't for political reasons. A bit like how wearing a mask became such a political issue that wearing one 'outs' you as a democrat and refusing to a Trump supporter.

When Tony F talks about snuffing it out before it replicates, is he in a way being disingenuous or just deluded in thinking that they are going to somehow convert the 25-30% of the population who are vehemently against vaccinations? Or would vaccinating close to 70% of the population be good enough to prevent vaccine evading variants?

The new boss is trying to vaccinate as much of the population as possible first and foremost, something the last one seemed uninterested in. I'd say that's a difference for starters.
