Double blind?

A lot of the most promising treatment, at least according to the tabloids, are still in early stages. With vaccines being rolled out cases will be brought to a much more manageable level soon and on the whole filling large phase 3 trials is going to become much harder. Recovery's probably got a few more months left to find out how effective aspirin, beetroot and anusol are before their recruitment boasts come to an end...

Aren't we too far along in the process now to be once again joining a new trial? The At Home trial doesn't target those in care homes but seeing as it targeted the over 65s and those with comorbidities it should at least have a useful enough read across...

Prion, wasn't the HC Science meeting you are referring to from earlier in the year? November time? Since then he has acknowledged synairgen (albeit in a begrudging conspiracy theory denying way) so hopefully he'll be forced to include us in any discussion in the future...

From what I understand Oil it's a phase 2/3 and isn't double blinded so the data will come in fast as lightning and besides any hiccups will be swiftly broadened out into a phase 3. The phase 2 will be little more than a quick proof of concept.

What a flagbearer Topol is for interferon - is he aware that synairgen are being added to Activ 2?

Matml, I was thinking today about the different trials. We are essentially going for two different stages of the disease - early invention for at risk groups as in the At Home trial and Activ 2 (not sure if activ 2 looks at just 'at risk' or takes on all patients) and later stage hospitalised patients in the phase 3.

Does that therefore require separate approvals? Surely positive results from the At Home trial would be all that's needed for approval for the at risk non-hospitalised patients?

Another issue could be the UK variant, despite AZ claiming it only minimally reduces efficacy.

I hope we start seeing the effects soon.

Could it be that results will in fact likely be mid-late March but as they like to gives dates in terms of quarters and the expected readout would be on the border of Q1/Q2, they gave us Q2 to cover themselves?

Hello At Home trial...

We've got to remember that despite all the frustrations we've had with perceived lack of coverage, attention and respect, things are falling into place. The conversation is moving on from vaccines to 'plan B', 'what's next?' and we are perfectly positioned to be at least part of that solution. We are doing everything correctly and above board, every i being dotted, every t crossed. This is the time that journalists, politicians and other influential figures may just listen and engage with constructive dialogue. Horby can promote his Recovery trial all he wants, no one thinks that aspirin is going to form the backbone of 'Plan B', nor will they take much notice when they 'reveal' positive results soon from their trial of regeneron.

With every positive article, namecheck and week that passes we get closer to the breakthrough we're hoping for. We want there to be increased interest in synairgen as we inch ever closer to 'results season', we want the background chatter to slowly morph into a clamour.

A good few weeks back when we were discussing other drugs I think it was pmjh that named molnupiravir as the one we should follow most closely. He also said he expected it to be added to Activ 2 alongside us...

On that last point, have any other companies announced inclusion to activ 2 in recent weeks or is it just the peerless SNG001 being added?

I suppose it's the combination of Fauci's past interest and research on interferons and now our inclusion in Activ 2 that leads to a (most likely wrong) conclusion that he's talking about or alluding to SNG on a number of occasions. Still, we'll be on his radar and that's something.

It's the way you go about replying on here, always with a little dig at the lack of intellect or knowledge - it is possible to do it in a less self-righteous way.
