I like the idea against such a volatile market backdrop to essentially use the buyback as a share price floor for now. Fall to the 13-14p area, buy. Eventually hopefully there will be the right catalyst to send this northward and they’ll have already absorbed the majority of the sellers wanting out.

This is your most frustrating investment? I thought it was your only investment going by your LSE profile? Or perhaps this is just an account designed only to bash Avacta and you have another for your actual investments?

Russell if you held or followed plenty of AIM shares you’d understand why, simply that there’s been a mass sell off and it’s inevitable to get somewhat dragged into it ie some will simply sell a few to have cash on the sidelines, some will sell to buy one of the stocks they follow that’s just seen share price decimated and on the flip side very few buy when there’s a bloodbath across the market.

Avacta holding up much better than the vast majority of small caps right now though and should recover its losses as soon as the market turns.

If ECR end up raising sometime in 2027 to plug a funding gap to get Blue Mountain over the line and into production it's hardly something to worry oneself about today in early 2026 with the share price at lows. And in the meantime if Raglan surprises to the upside there won't even be a funding gap.

For now the forecast is somewhere from good to great.

It might be hard for others to come to this conclusion but it's possible that Christina and most of her team around her aren't fixated on becoming multimillionaires, at least less so than the typical AIM ceo whom spends years pivoting their business from legal cannabis, to cryptocurrency, to whatever else eventually sticks. Most of the team here are scientists that know if they are successful they'll have an ever more rewarding and well remunerated career waiting for them in pharma.

Christina meanwhile becomes a very wealthy woman if successful here as she has 3.6m options at 72p.

Worth bearing in mind that at 18% up over the past month Avacta is performing extremely well against this war backdrop - it's in a tiny minority of positive movers over the period and is a sign of how positive things are here.

Anyone claiming today, with the share price in the 60s, to be protecting shareholders from rampers because the catalysts we’re all waiting for might be three months away rather than one obviously aren’t protecting others, most likely they just aren’t fully in yet ie they have cash on the sidelines ready to invest on the assumption of a placing or further pullback.

There are more posts alluding to rampers than there are actually rampy posts!

Why if you’re a long term holder are you so bothered about predicting near term timelines though? It’s all near enough and the prize for success so high that the immediate term is just noise.

And of course we know your view, you think it’s important to repeat it so regularly.

I think you'll find news suddenly coming thick and fast from all different avenues and once the wider market has settled down a bit we will start to see attention back on ATM.

Significant results from SQM really are a near term thing, i'm sure some news from BW really isn't too far away and well maybe EIB a bit later this year. But in the meantime Andrada is comfortably moving forward and generating positive cash flow... sure as i've said numerous times perhaps not the shovel-loads that they should be with such a tin backdrop but still positive free cash flow is a world of difference from the cash-haemorrhaging that we had to work around before.

Nailed that post! Touk repeatedly asked me what I had to say about him being ‘right’ about the FPD and others being ‘wrong’ and I honestly had no idea what he was talking about.

I don’t respond generally to stupid comments. Avacta has always targeted this time for first patient dosed and are meeting it, if some predicted a few weeks earlier on here I just ignore them.

I’d also ignore you if you didn’t keep claiming to be right about everything when you’re not.

No. It's very simple. At 50 pence you argued there was no rational reason for the share price to rise at all without a deal, instead it would trickle lower.

You claim to be omnipotent with this share and continually get call everything right yet the evidence suggests otherwise.

Okay then how about this on Saturday February 1st with the share price having closed for the weekend at 51.5p:

Me: 'Anyone that thinks Avacta under Christina and Richard's guidance, well through 1b and with the first patient dosed in ava6103 (a drug with a far, far greater addressable market) is going to end up raising below that failure of a 2024 raise isn't a savvy investor or trader.' My point being it's back at that 50p price but it will rise from here.

Yeah because they have to go with the figures ECR themselves are targeting but Nick repeats that these are conservative initial targets, the expectation is for far greater ounces produced. If so they’re dandy, if not there’s £1.5m to cover the shortfall for at least a little while. Either way they are good for now and can make progress towards Blue Mountain production.

Mobico is what, about 9% ZEV electric currently? I thought I remembered reading that a large percentage more will be electric in the coming years (when the higher prices will actually affect Mobico), anyone got any concrete figures on this?

That’s a very simplified way to look at it Touk. Why do organisations and pressure groups go on big divestment pushes? Do they say things like ‘it’s time to stop buying into equity raises relating to oil companies!’ or instead do they focus on divesting more broadly and the impact that can have???

Investing in and promoting Avacta as actively as possible supports the company full stop and means you’re contributing, even if only in a minuscule way, towards their success. We don’t have a lot of power as individuals but the companies we invest in, the products we buy etc aggregately can change and reshape society.

Sure instead giving to Cancer Research and volunteering in wards is a step above this but there’s no need to denigrate those who feel a certain deeper connection to this investment than they would if they were investing in businesses without any potential of changing the world for the better.
