Have just averaged down on the dip.

It's absolutely glorious watching this. I'm approaching 100 percent up.

The breakout and move up happened as predicted. Much nicer to be at this level now.

For my next prediction... If anybody fancies dabbling in a bit of trading, the ascending triangle pattern on ncyt is looking very interesting. IME it's the most reliable pattern, plus good fundamentals, odds are stacked favourably on that one. Looking for a break and hold above 910 ish over there. Then if it goes well you can buy more AVCT ;)

The textbook triangle pattern continues to form. I still maintain my prediction of a technical breakout within the coming trading sessions regardless of news.

If this breaks and holds above 910, that will be very promising indeed.

47,000 isn't exactly a 'large' buy IMO. II's taking positions or increasing holdings if interesting, but I have no interest in what are most likely just PI trades who only have access to the same information as us.

My shares here are worth what some people would earn in a year, but for others only as much as they spend to take their family on a fancy holiday or to put fuel in their yacht for a week.

The size of a trade is relevant to the person's capital. If you're sat on a million quid you might invest 47k as a punt with little research.

If your investing 470 quid its everything you have in the bank, you're probably going to make sure you know the share inside out.

Furthermore, in my experience, a persons wealth is not always directly proportionate to their intellect...

I bet there's a lot of people reading this board who are following the research of other investors who actually have a significantly smaller holding than them.

Slipping share price is just impatient holders imo. No doubt they will regret selling.

Regardless, there seems to be resistance at this level so can't see it will go lower... Hence my little top up.

That 60p will be back soon enough no doubt. I just can't see there's any downside from this level unless there's some left field bad news.

Even without an RNS, it will probably break out. Set your chart to 4hr and have a look at the triangle pattern which is forming. You don't need to draw it, it's very clear to see. The consolidation should continue, likely resulting in a technical breakout within the next few trading sessions...

And none of the sub group were aged over 55.

Even though az vaccine wasn't unexpected news to anybody, I'm surprised at the resilience of the share price this morning! Low is currently 108.5. Before Christmas I was expecting to see this drop to around 104.

Panic selling appears to be minimal.

Neutronic, I'll be surprised if this doesn't fall back to 104, or possibly around 100 when the AZ vaccine hype train begins.

That's the big one of the way though and hopefully it will be onwards and upwards from there. In my opinion, prudent investors looking at buying into Avacta will sit on their hands until the dust has settled on AZ and start to move in thereafter, as one could fairly reliably say that's going to be the bottom... Probably even the lowest it will EVER be again (unless Avacta really mess something up in a big way which seems unlikely at this stage).

Nightingale at the Excel is gone. About ten percent of it used for storage of beds and equipment.

Strange. Maybe hospitalisation not as bad as expected, but historically second waves are worse so why they closed it before seeing what this winter had/has in-store is mystery to me. I don't believe any of the retired nurses who were offering their services got called up either.

Fdh, great post. My understanding is that herd immunity requires 70 percent immunity. The last AZ vaccine stats stated a pooled effacacy of 70.4 percent (iirc, haven't checked that). On that basis, you would surely need an uptake of 85 ish percent for herd immunity resulting from vaccination.

The counter argument is that once you've vaccinated those at highest risk some normality can return regardless.

The counter argument to that however, is the vaccine will likely be less effacious in the at risk age groups and therefore you need that comprehensive roll out across the majority of the population.

In addition, as you have correctly said, the biggest elephant in the room is how long the vaccine will last.

All of the above said, I expect the gov and media to be ramping the t*ts out of the AZ vaccine if it's approved over the coming few days as expected, so hold on tight as it might be a bumpy ride again...

I'm a medium to long term trader mainly based on fundamentals, but regardless will use charts to time entrys and exits...

4d has been on my radar for some time and looks like a good bet in the short, medium or the long term. Furthermore, at this moment in time, it appears it could make a move to 140p fairly quickly even without news.

Thank you. I noted that in the RNS but wondered if there's any knowledge or speculation as to when 'early 2021' is likely to be. Scrolling through Twitter I saw a poster who appears to well informed say mid Jan so wondered if there was any substance behind it

Can somebody tell me whether I'm correct in understanding the proposed merger will take place mid Jan please?
