The plan by Geopura and Siemens dos not fix the issues that AFC's systems fix. Their plan does not actually achieve much.
As stated by AFC:
"Hydrogen carrier fuels, such as methanol, are widely recognised in the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors. This is because they are more energy dense than hydrogen, their lower bulk makes them easier and cheaper to transport and store."
"Our 'flex fuel' approach will meet the industry need for low cost on-site hydrogen production using hydrogen carrier fuels. It opens up potential for many off-grid locations where hydrogen is uneconomic to transport or store."
Geopura and Siemens cracking Ammonia at a huge site somewhere, would then mean transporting Hydrogen to sites, defeating the object of carrier fuels, and still does not fix "many off-grid locations where hydrogen is uneconomic to transport or store".
