RE: Comparable companies share price history6 Nov 2022 21:30
MDM,
You are asking the wrong question.
Loads of companies "have had a similar trajectory to QFI and eventually went commercial", but they could be making bog brushes or left-handed widgets, so none of them have any relevance to QFI.
What you should be doing is looking at the markets QFI are targeting, and the potential size of the revenue stream combined, versus the MCap.
MSC is the biggest shipping company in the World. As of August 2022 "MSC currently has 114 ships on order which will have a total capacity of approximately 1.5 million TEU. MSC was crowned as one of the largest container carriers in the world, according to recent data from Alphaliner. In the shipping analyst’s latest list of top shipping lines, MSC reached the top spot with a total capacity of 4,352,617 TEU across 665 ships."

Back in 2011 "QFI estimates that MSAR will save container vessel owners. $1m/vessel/year in fuel costs.". Since then, the spread (the amount QFI can save) has widened a lot, with the requirement to use low Sulphur fuels.
QFI could end up with 1/3 of the savings, as it's always been the plan that the savings would be split between shipping company, refinery, and QFI (the technology provider).
On top of that, there is the rest of the shipping industry for QFI to supply, and the power projects like Morocco, Americas, Mexico, and maybe even the massive Saudi once they see our fuels being used commercially.
Today the QFI MCap is a pathetic £31m. Go figure on where you think the MCap will go from here as QFI goes commercial.
