AFC had to get De Nora in to fix what GL had designed, hence the new AFC stack with new flow plates and much better elecrodes.

CWR had to go back to the drawing board as well, as their cell was delaminating and they had to fix it or go bust.

The above wouldn't give me any confidence on what's being developed at this new company.

I've already sent this to AFC last week and suggested they target Amazon with the EV Charger.

I quite agree with the above replies, although Taxis do by far the highest mileage (and would thus use the chargers the most) so have to be seen as a priority.

Airports are trying anything to reduce their CO2 and air quality impact. Getting taxis to change to EV's should be at or near the top of their list.

Rental cars are different, as it's up to the individual rental companies as to what vehicles they offer, and the availability of EV charging at the airport would only be a small factor in their choice, as they also need to consider that drivers need to charge somewhere else after they have hired the car.

Regarding the post on another thread saying that AFC just did a presentation to the British Parking Association, I see some Airports on the member list

One potentially big use of AFC chargers is at airports, for airport taxi recharging.

There's been quite a surge in taxi (and UBER) uptake of EV's since longer range cars have appeared. This will be a big growth market next year, with the large number of new long range EV models being released.

Decarbonising transport needs taxis to go electric, as they do huge mileage every year. Giving them EV chargers at airports is a sure way to get them switching.

This is the point where you have to remember that hundreds of billions in UK investment left the UK since the referendum. But, analysts are already telling clients to reinvest. So hundreds of billions will be coming back into the UK, into stocks and other investments.

The next 8 months should be a lot of upside for the stock market. Around then it will depend how the UK is doing in trade talks as to where the market goes, so we've all got at least 8 months to be happy with our investments, reversing a lot of the damage done over the past 3 years.

A huge conservative majority is forecast, the exit poll has shown.

The Conservatives are expected to win 368 seats, and Labour 191. That gives the Tories a majority of 86.

That will be the biggest Conservative majority since 1987. And it would be the worst Labour result in modern times.

Demonstrating being the operative word.

Not making it durable, proving it is already durable by showing its longevity chart and its ability to work with low grade Hydrogen or Ammonia.

It's only a fact as far as that's what they are saying right now. They've told us LOADS if things over the past 11 years I've been a shareholder and they've done very few of them, so equally it must work the same in the opposite direction, and things they say they aren't doing (now) they may well do in the future.

I think for the time being cars are out for the membrane fuel cell because the power density requirement is much higher for fuel cell cars, due to the restricted space to fit it in.

The Toyota Mirai fuel cell (FCA110) has an output of 114kW and has 370 cells. Compare that to the picture of the AFC membrane fuel cell and you can see that to get 114kW it would be way too big.

But, that's not the end of the story, as AFC and De Nora will no doubt be working on improving the power density to the point where it can fit in cars.

It's an Alkaline membrane, so my take on it is that PEM manufacturers would licence it and instead of making acidic PEM cells, they would make alkaline AAEMFC fuel cells.

The benefit would be that they can lower TCO by using lower grade Hydrogen or by using Ammonia, and use lower pressure, meaning cheaper component cost and simpler manufacturing. There are many savings to be had here.

This then makes fuel cells far more attractive to the World, and would give a huge boost to the transition to a Hydrogen economy.

AFC cannot take on the World, either they license out the membrane or they'll get bought out by a huge Company that will, before they've had a chance to really capitalise on the potential of the membrane.

Do you really think those running the company and pretty much all its investors give a damn what happens in 10 years time????

How many installations will AFC ALREADY HAVE in 10 years time, with cartridge replacement contracts in place for the following 10 years????

I've held the stock for 11 years. I don't want to have to hold it for another 10 years, I want my ROI a lot sooner than that!

Selling the membrane IP for £500m gives us and AFC what we want, today.
