RE: Please support my petition for hydrogen refuelling30 Nov 2020 19:45
I am definitely not signing that petition!
1) It is biased against EV's, which are AFC's market.
2) It would stop some people from buying an EV, which they need to do right now to try and do their bit to mitigate as much climate change as possible, whilst giving them and everyone else clean air to breathe.
3) There are only THREE HEV vehicles manufactured today. They are VERY expensive, and only two of them are available in the UK, neither are large cars and neither of them can tow anything either.
4) You say it's for people that can't charge at home. How many people do you know that don't have a private parking space have £60 to spend on a HEV?? None is my bet. "Toyota's Mirai, for example, costs around £60,000 with Toyota expected to lose money on every one sold. This price includes the £4,500 Category 1 UK Plug-in Car Grant (PiCG) which includes the Mirai as an eligible vehicle." Let alone afford to run a HEV "Hydrogen is sold in kilograms rather than volume (litres or gallons), and current prices are around £10 to £15 per kg. As the Mirai's tank holds approximately 5 kg, a full hydrogen refill would cost between £50 and £75 meaning that hydrogen FCEVS are more expensive per distance able to travel than both internal combustion vehicles and BEVs."
The above negates all of your arguments in favour of your petition. It's a garbage petition which I presume you only put forward because you've just bought into ITM. The petition will end up going where garbage goes, either when it doesn't get enough signatures, or when the Government tell you what I've told you here today.
