In 1990, ABB launched Azipod, a family of electric propulsion systems that extends below the hulls of large ships, providing both thrust and steering functions. Developed in corporation with the Finnish shipbuilder Masa-Yards, Azipod has demonstrated the viability of hybrid-electric power in seagoing vessels, while also increasing maneuverability, fuel efficiency and space efficiency.

In 2000, ABB brought to market the world's first commercial, high-voltage, shore-to-ship electric power, at the Swedish port of Gothenburg. Supplying electricity to berthed ships from the shore enables vessels to shut down their engines while in port, significantly reducing noise, vibrations and carbon emissions.

In 2018, ABB unveiled the Terra High Power charger for electric vehicles, capable of delivering enough to charge in eight minutes to enable an electric car to travel 200 kilometers.

ABB's Electrification business offers products and services from substation to socket. Customers include a wide range of industry and utility operations, plus commercial and residential buildings. The business has strong exposure to a range of rapidly growing segments, including renewables, e-mobility, data centers and smart buildings.

Its offerings include electric vehicle infrastructure, solar inverters, modular substations, distribution automation; products to protect people, installations and electronic equipment from electrical overload such as enclosures, cable systems and low-voltage circuit breakers; measuring and sensing devices, control products, switches and wiring accessories.

The acquisition of GE Industrial Solutions, which closed in June 2018, further strengthened ABB's #2 global position in electrification.[37]

ABB's Motion business provides a range of electrical motors, generators, drives and services, as well as integrated digital powertrain solutions. Motion is the #1 player in the market globally.[41]

The Power Grids business offers components for the transmission and distribution of electricity, and incorporates ABB's manufacturing network for transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and associated high voltage equipment such as digital protective relays. It also offers maintenance services.

You can add the upgrading of ABB's existing installations to cope with increased demand too.

ABB is the deal that can get us to the MCap of CWR or ITM!

AFC's broker fair valuation is 68p, BUT that was only ever based on UK sales of EV Chargers (plus generator replacement via Acciona), now AFC has a massive partner and marketing into 100 countries!

Obviously the upside to the valuation won't be 100x, but quadruple must surely be the minimum case now, which means 272p.

Absolute rubbish to say AFC are losing ground, that's just another negative spin post title to suit your trading position.

There are billions of pounds of 'ground' in AFC's markets, a few deals here or there by other companies is EXPECTED, or are you suggesting AFC should win EVERY deal out there and all the other companies should go bust?

Ideed, ITM sell kit that produces Hydrogen, AFC sells kit that produces power from Hydrogen, but does not need to source it's Hydrogen from ITM kit, it can use Green Ammonia or Green Hydrogen from any supplier. So they are totally disconnected. ITM has already been selling kit for years and it's price reflects it's future sales pipeline. AFC is only just about to start selling, and has loads of sales leads that will become it's sales pipeline, this is the point where it can multiply much faster than ITM, because it is going to be catching up with ITM's pipeline, getting those future sales priced in.

Absolutely!! With 3,000,000 EV charging points needed in the EU over the next 10 years, the prospect just for this part of the World is huge. France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, they all have very remote areas and will have the same or worse grid issues than the UK.

There's room for everyone. Gridserve only have one station so far and they have to prove it works financially yet. They do have plans for more, but they are none of them will be in the way of AFC because AFC is designed for places that don't have the grid capacity or fleets that want to be able to chage at base but grid cannot provide enough power for them to do that. Gridserve on the other hand have a multi-megawatt supply and all of their locations will need that, so are placed where the grid can provide it, which is the opposite to AFC's solution.
